The boys had fun attempting to blast their creatures out of the crate and comparing the differences between the monsters. We really liked that the crate is the packaging as it is really appealing to children and we actually keep Snort Hog in his crate when not being played with, it really adds to his appeal. The Jump-It Wipeout is a musical jump challenge where you try to beat the rotating soft foam jump bar. The Crate Creature's eyes light up when he's active, and through the bars of his crate he is very cute.

There's a warning not to pull his tongue, and as soon as you do, he growls and howls and roars at you, and sometimes stamps his feet and shakes.Crate Creatures are back, but this time with little mini versions of themselves, and with a couple of new friends!

Once you open up the crate, your monster will pop up – thanks to a spring-loaded platform – which is a pretty fun way to have him introduce himself. Food – each creature comes with its own food, and when he feed them, you can hear them chomping away! I did find myself having to help Noah a lot with this as it is quite fiddly, but that wasn't a problem. There are lots of great features to keep kids entertained, different actions bring different results and noises. We think he's a real winner and he's very much a hit with both my 8 and 9 year old boys, and myself.

There's also a range of Tom Gates items, including games, puzzles and greeting cards at major retailers. The best part, however was being able to head to the museums very own viewing area which is near the Gatwick runway to plane spot!
