Description

The Separatists field an array of lethal warships supported by swarms of cheap fighters. Uniquely, many of their upgrades emphasise debilitation of the enemy through harassment and debuffs. Their ships are designed to hit hard from the front and sides alike, while having the necessary speed to get out of (or into) trouble swiftly. Separatist players must contend with fighters that are highly co-dependent on their ships, and the same small roster of the Republic.

Beyond the ship cards themselves, 14 upgrade cards invite you to make your Recusant-class Destroyer even more specialized with additional weapons, titles, and officers such as the Commerce Guild’s On January 25, 2021 FFG announced the first wave (wave 10) with additional expansions for the Clone Wars introducing the Pelta-class Frigate and Venator-class Star Destroyer for the Galactic Republic together with the Recusant-class Destroyer and the Providence-class Dreadnought for the Separatists. The new expansions are scheduled for April 16. Hey, it’s Summer and I get to talk about my favourite faction today. Great stuff. Schwerpunkt – “Threats of insurrection must be met with strong, centralized power.” Republic ship recommendations: Venator-class Star Destroyer. It’s big, it’s magnificent. Follow up with a Pelta-class frigate (make sure to get the Republic version, or you just joined the Rebel Alliance!). The Galactic Empire is a dictatorial state that rose to power in the wake of the Clone Wars, driven by Sith plotting and populism. Their first portrayal in Star Wars forever set an image of greebled grey warships into the popular consciousness. Decades on, they made it to Star Wars: Armada as one of the first factions, bringing a legacy of pointy ship designs, un-subtlety, and ruthlessness to the tabletop.

On August 1, 2018 The Super Star Destroyer Expansion was announced for Q1 2019. It will add a new size class and ruleset for epic gameplay. In a previous article, I explained what Star Wars: Armada is all about. In case you missed it, the short version is: Prospective admirals will be happy to hear that the Galactic Empire’s definitive warship comes in many variants, and is a fleet staple. The ISD or pizza slice is the Empire’s bread-and-butter large warship. Between its four variants, it can perform anything from torpedo assaults to fleet command. Everything the Imperial does, it does with the ruthless determination and grit you’d expect from one of the game’s definitive heavyweights. Realistically, this thing is only hampered by its substantial points cost and Onager infested waters. Veteran players may mourn the devastating nerf to Avenger, but the sun has not set on the original Star Destroyer. There are so many languages spoken throughout the galaxy! The wiki provides its info in basic. But in May 2020 I started the enterprise to give valuable insights for the German speaking part of the galaxy! But this didn‘t get very far.

A note on availability: being a few years old now, some of Armada’s expansions have fallen out of print or have become hard to find. Where possible, this list relies on expansions that are easily available in online shops. We also tried to list alternative choices on some of the items where appropriate. Essential Imperial Expansions On April 6, 2015 Wave 2 was announced, introducing irregular fighter squadrons and four new ships: Raider -class Corvette, Imperial -class Star Destroyer, MC30c Frigate, and MC80 Home One, adding the first ships on " large" bases for both factions. Armada is a game of capital ship warfare. Fleets require at least one non-Flotilla ship, usually more. Start there. Follow that with a complement of squadrons to round out your budding fleet. Lastly, you’ll need to procure some basic gameplay tools. The good news is that there are starter offerings for both eras, depending on how you (and even a friend) would like to begin. These are the Star Wars: Armada Core Set, or the Fleet Starters. All of these boxes hit each of the categories we need to play Armada: ships, squadrons, and tools. Star Wars: Armada Core Set On August 8, 2014 Star Wars: Armada was officially announced by Fantasy Flight Games. It was released on March 27, 2015. Each core set includes three ships: one Victory-class Star Destroyer, a Nebulon-B Frigate, a CR90 Corellian Corvette, 6 TIE Fighter and 4 X-wing squadrons. On July 22, 2016 The Corellian Conflict was announced, adding the first playable campaign to the game and new aces and unique squadrons for each of the fighter squadrons in the game.Within this expansion, you’ll find everything you need to add a Recusant-class Destroyer to your fleets, beginning with a beautifully detailed, pre-painted miniature. Two ship cards bring this miniature to life on your tabletop as either a Light Destroyer or a Support Destroyer, each featuring their own unique armament and upgrade bar.

On August 5, 2016 Wave 5 was announced, introducing the Modified Pelta-class Corvette, the Imperial Light Cruiser, and more imperial and rebel squadrons. Seen in Episodes II through III, the Clone Wars (CW) was defined by a large-scale conflict between the Galactic Republic and the droid armies of the Separatist Alliance. The CW factions are new releases, occurring after Armada’s transition into its 1.5 th Edition. Their rosters use the most up-to-date rules and card formats, and bring a load of interesting new mechanics to the table. Due to their young age, the CW factions have very small rosters composed of extremely cost-effective multi-role ships, supported by a small range of strong squadrons. Don’t let the small ship rosters fool you – these few ships are largely responsible for the power creep the GCW ships have suffered. They are also differentiated by novel mechanics beyond strong-slow and fast-stabby as represented in the GCW. The era’s factions are defined by: The ‘clumsy’ and ‘stupid’ Admiral Ozzel allows you to make an aggressive first-round movement with one of your ships. Absolutely vital on Onager builds designed to fire in the first round of combat, and useful on ships that tend to lag behind. His ability is single-use and triggers at the beginning of the game. Between choking him and Needa with Vader (Officer), you’re basically just re-creating the Star Wars canon through normal gameplay. That’s called good game design.

Hallo Star Wars Fan! Seit 2016 betreue ich dieses Nachschlagewerk für Armada-Spieler. Nach vier Jahren wird es Zeit, das auch in meiner Muttersprache zu tun. Über Deine Mithilfe würde ich mich sehr freuen! Publisher's Description [ ] In Star Wars Armada, players can command either Imperial fleet, or play as an admiral in the Rebel Alliance. Massive Star Destroyers fly to battle against Rebel corvettes and frigates. Inferno Squad’s leader is one of my favourite characters in the setting, and her role in Armada reflects her place in special operations. People mostly take her for the first part of her ability, which allows her (normally small) ship to be far more survivable in close-quarters. She can also be shot onto enemy ships to cause trouble, but that’s secondary. She is standard-issue on Raiders and Gladiators, and is notably the first officer I’ve mentioned who has an ability that activates repeatedly. She gains value from regular use, and is unlikely to be asphyxiated by Vader. Good on you, Iden. As one of the most prominent ships in the Separatist Navy, the Providence-class Dreadnought often leads Separatist fleets into battle and 14 upgrade cards give you the freedom to outfit it for battle. Among them is the Supreme Commander of the Separatist Droid Army himself, I have not played Armada since the before times, my last game was late 2019. For the sake of returning and new players, recent contention about commander Anakin Skywalker from Rapid Reinforcements II aside:
