Anyways, this is not a well-articulated review with a character and story analysis of all the things I loved, but I can tell you this: I love the story and the characters with all my heart. Period. A lot of people seem to hate it for some reason which I don't understand. at. all. Our favourite couple FINALLY finally finally develop a relationship worthy of crying and writing about. The longing, the pining, the wait was so long but so worth it. I can only hope to have a relationship as resilient as that one. The wedding, the bite-mark, the companionship, the love.... The way Touka was the name that brought Kaneki out of his dismembered misery. The way Touka was the first face that came to his mind when thinks of who he lives for. I feel like crying every time I think about Kaneki and Touka.

edit: Mutsuki and Urie deserved more. Definitely. In my head, they got together within the 6 years after the dragon war. You can't change my mind. Tokyo Ghoul does an excellent job introducing Kaneki and his allies, but Tokyo Ghoul:re gets even more ambitious with the scope of its cast. Kaneki remains the focus, but the anime learns how to exist without him and brings many more important characters into the fray like Mutsuki, Shirazu, and Urie. Even the treatment of Kaneki’s alter ego, Sasaki, is handled like a unique character. Additionally, groups like Aogiri Tree, Owls, and the organizations such as the Commission of Counter Ghoul guarantee that Tokyo Ghoul:re keeps its cast busy. In 2010 he won the Young Jump 113th Grand Prix award with Tokyo Ghoul (東京喰種, Tōkyō Kushu). In March 2011, the same oneshot was published in the 2nd Issue of Miracle Jump. And later in September 2011, Tokyo Ghoul started as a series in Weekly Young Jump 2011-41 Issue. In December 2011, he made another oneshot about Rize that was published in December 2011 in Miracle Jump 6th Issue, which was later collected in the 6th volume of Tokyo Ghoul. If one reads this manga at perfect timing, when one faces huge changes, especially a painful one, this manga would be a treasure for them beyond compare. The world is overrun with monsters called Nemeses—and a young boy infected by one will stop at nothing to defeat them all!

Table of Contents

In a post-apocalyptic world of vampires vs. humans, Yuichiro brings vengeance upon his vampire overlords! BUT, the payoff at the end was sooo worth it. The last 3rd of re really pulled everything together and was extremely satisfying. Especially when Hide showed up again! Everything after that was A++. I was scared I wouldn’t like the ending or that certain favorite characters would die. But, I was impressed by the author’s ability to tie everything together at the end and make the story unforgettable. A new manga from the creator of the acclaimed A Silent Voice, featuring intimate, emotional drama and an epic story spanning time and space... The Commission of Counter Ghoul is the only organization fighting the Ghoul menace, and they will use every tool at their disposal to protect humanity from its ultimate predator. Their newest weapon in this hidden war is an experimental procedure that implants human investigators with a Ghoul’s Kagune, giving them Ghoul powers and abilities. But both the procedure and the newly formed Qs Squad are untested. Will they become heroes…or monsters?!

I never will get Uta, Itori and Yomo's relationship. It is mind-boggling. Uta can only have "fun" when Renji is alive and Itori is just in love with Uta so she just does whatever makes Uta happy. It's a questionable relationship albeit a bit better than a murderous one. I think the best character was Amon and I’m SO GLAD he and Kaneki got to reunite after everything, and just that whole chapter of him, Akira, Touka and Kaneki was what I was WAITING for. When he told Touka that the pain he feels after losing Mado isn’t directed at her, but “It’s directed at the world that forced us to do what we did,” and he’d been wanting to tell her that, was such a good moment. I knew since part 1 when Amon was captured that he and Kaneki would meet again, but not as enemies and that Amon would become essentially what he dedicated his life to killing. He was the character who constantly questioned his actions and himself to figure out what was morally right, and I’m proud of him for that. Also, when he admitted to himself that he loved his “father” despite everything because he had good memories was heartbreaking. But, Amon was a steady favorite of mine since part 1 (and I ship him with Akira). It's worth distinguishing that Tokyo Ghoul was animated by Studio Pierrot, but when Tokyo Ghoul:re came around, the studio had other commitments and it was handed over to Pierrot Plus, which is a considerably smaller operation. Due to this transition and a number of new directors and character designers, there's definitely a new look to Tokyo Ghoul:re. Ken Kaneki is an ordinary college student until a violent encounter turns him into the first half-human, half-Ghoul hybrid. Trapped between two worlds, he must survive Ghoul turf wars, learn more about Ghoul society and master his new powers. I read this manga because my sister recommended it to me. (Actually she said not to read it because it was violent and graphic, but she kept talking about it so I had to read it).The best part of the last 2 volumes was Hide. Hide and Kaneki deserved so much more storytime together. I'm so glad Hide existed because he was literally the glue (along with Kaneki of course) that brought the ghouls and CCG together. In my opinion, Hide was, in a way, the representative of the CCG in Kaneki's relationship to the world. While Kaneki was a representative of someone who knew ghouls weren't necessarily bad people as a whole. Confession: I think my only goal in life will be to have enough money to buy all the books in Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: re. Also, do yourself a favour and spend hours of your life reading the masterpiece that is Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: re. Tokyo Ghoul re is a fantastic series taking you through more struggles and new growth of the amazing characters we know and new ones we meet

As I was reading Tokyo Ghoul re, I kept thinking that series 1 was much better. Re had sooo many new characters that I didn’t find myself caring about, in fact many of them annoyed me. The story was also more confusing than part 1 and I kept reading, waiting for the story to get exciting again.Ayato also had a great character arc and I really enjoyed his character in re. He seemed like a totally different person than that lost, rebellious boy who treated his sister bad. When he called kaneki his brother! (I was so scared he would die for kaneki so his sister wouldn’t lose her husband). And I ship him and Hinami (I assume they were together at the end). Bueno, hubo momentos de este manga en donde estaba super enganchada con la historia y luego me aburría y luego volvía a engancharme. He’s just amazing and I was constantly rooting for him as he fought in those slippers (If he had died my rating would have been much lower). I loved when he said “What is peace anyway? I don’t know what it is. People, ghouls... if one is gone, is that peace?” I can’t say enough about how much I like Juzo. Tokyo Ghoul RE: Is DARK. The story primarily follows Ken Kaneki, who lost his memory and now goes by Haise, training as a ccg investigator. It’s an interesting twist seeing the ‘human’ perspective. Honestly, if one doesn't enjoy the wonderful personal growth of every single character in this story, then i really don't know what one can enjoy in their lives.
