Description

The bartender’s name is Jonas and they have some drinks together and Nicole is full-drunk now talking about flood prep which is the dorkiest cutest thing ever. Wynonna wants to leave but Nicole is determined to get this shot glass so she asks for more peppermint schnapps. Talking about heartbreaking subjects isn't enough to make a book good. You have to actually work around and with them to create something meaningful. It might sound mean but it's true.

the basic theme of the collection is following our narrator who has endured abuse & lost the meaning of love as she finds the goddess aphrodite in her room. aphrodite then (as the feminist, lgbt icon she is) explains the power of love and forgiveness to our narrator.

I HIGHLY recommend this to EVERY queer person & ally for the LGBTQIA+ community if you’re in the place to read it (trigger warnings at the bottom) its a beautiful story about forgiveness, dealing with past trauma, and accepting yourself. it’s beautiful, it’s heart wrenching, and it HAS A HAPPY ENDING !!!! The only good thing about it was the revelation that a Rev and Earp had a baby before leading to possibly being Waverly. Now that could open up a whole new set of questions; was it Ward with a Lady Rev, Did Ward have a sister who had sex with a Rev and the sister gave the baby to Ward to be protected by the heir but then again we know from Waverly that Ward was shitty to her? But if it is Waverly who is half Earp half Rev then that means she is an Earp somehow someway.

It's important not to isolate yourself when you're healing but it's also important to be able to sit quietly with yourself.I understand what you mean about Jeremy and maybe he’s just there to be the butt of some jokes, however gentle. all in all, I can’t recommend this book enough. I know I have a bias through my goddess but everyone can use some love in their life. To stop resenting my mother I had to unlearn the idea that our parents are these infallible beings who always know the right thing to do, and do it. I had to realize that she's more than a mother. She's a person with unresolved trauma and she's scared of being alone and she's frustrated with existence, just like everyone else.

About the Author: Trista Mateer is a writer/artist who traveled a lot in her life but has finally decided to reside in New Jersey by the sea. She started out as a blogger on Tumblr in 2013 and won the 2015 Goodreads Choice Award for poetry. She then transitioned into traditional publishing and in 2017 when she released her first collection Honeybee and also went on to create “The Unholy Wild” and Aphrodite Made Me Do It, which represents her art of prose and poetry. But then things take a turn when Jonas makes his eyes do that Revenant thing and says he knows she’s there to kill him. The lovely Aphrodite was said to be born from the sea foam produced by his dismembered parts. Hesiod interpreted Aphrodite’s name as risen from the foam. But her name is also thought to stem from a word meaning shining, wanderer, and bright. Hesiod mentions two islands in his story about Aphrodite’s origins. Anyway the reason she said that is because she realized they can’t leave yet; Jonas knows she’s pregnant, and she can’t have the whole Revenant population knowing. Lovely War is a heavy romance set in World War One and based on the character of Aphrodite. You will see the Greek god, goddess, and Aphrodite here. It is like the framework of the story that is fascinating as well. Most people that have read this book adore it and love it.Something has been bugging me though, why does Nicole drive the police cruiser even off duty? I doubt they have the resources to allow every deputy to have a car 24/7. Is it because they are a small department and can be called in at any time or is it because she’s “new” in town and never bought a personal car and needs a way to get around town? No matter what the stories say, he was mine. Adonis, the one who chose me still, after seeing me for what I was. He was mine. Bled to death in my arms and he was mine. I felt grief for the first time and I taught the world to mourn with me. I taught them how to howl with pain. Just like I did. Like I still do. You'd think time would make me forget, but everything is written down. There is no forgetting. Venus and Aphrodite is historically accurate and an academic book. It teaches us many things that many books on Aphrodite do regarding her story, where her idea came from, and how she was approached. The author touches on many aspects of feminism, whether self-love, body image, and sexuality. It talks about the political standpoint. As time moved, how Aphrodite was changed and portrayed became different.
