siz de kendinizi güçsüz, çaresiz, etkisiz mi hissediyorsunuz? bir oda dolusu insanın içinde 'benim burada ne işim var? gibi sorgulara girmeden duramıyor musunuz? sosyal etkileşim durumunda sık sık kendinizi ortamdan soyutlanmış, üçüncü bir göz gibi mi hissediyorsunuz? ya da uzun süren tepkisizilik anlarından sonra ani patlamalar mı yaşıyorsunuz? harekete geçecek gücü ve motivasyonu bulmakta sıklıkla zorlanıyor musunuz? otomatik tepkilerinizi dönüştürmekte etkisiz mi kalıyorsunuz? kısacası bir şeyler sizin kontrolünüzde hissettirmiyor mu, bu kitap tam size göre :) Accessing the Healing Power of the Vagus Nerve: Self-Help Exercises for Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Autism full book As other reviewers have stated, this book was dry, boring, deeply ableist, and made many oversimplifications and generalizations. It is painfully, and I mean painfully repetitive. The first 50% of the book could have easily been cut in half. It often seemed as if each chapter was written to stand alone, often full sentences were repeated from one chapter to the next.

Accessing the Healing Power of the Vagus Nerve: Self-Help Exercises for Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and AutismThis is an excellent book for practitioners who work with clients with trauma. I wish I'd found it years ago. He also claims to be able to tell whether someone has low or high heart rate variability by palpating a pulse while observing breathing and breath out. This may be true (or not) but how does he quantify the change. He has a training school so why has he not employed proper equipment to do data collection and publish it. Stanley Rosenberg has put his encyclopedic clinical knowledge to work through the lens of the Polyvagal Theory, illuminating the path away from the underlying cause of so much of today’s disease: anxiety. A tour de force.”—Tom Myers, author of Anatomy Trains DNF - This book is deeply ableist. Rosenberg has years of experience in the field of bodywork but no qualifications in mental health care. He makes very bold claims about conditions such as depression and autism without nuance or consideration of the social stigmas that affect them.

Tuo yksi ainoa tekniikka riitti tuomaan Williamin sosiaalisen liittymisen tilaan. William alkoi kommunikoida perheensä ja koulunsa muiden oppilaiden kanssa, ja hän alkoi saada ystäviä." (s.252)A very useful update of the understanding of the stress response and related states. Stress & relaxation are insufficient descriptors on their own and the polyvagal theory offers a much more rounded understanding: adding mobilised with and without fear, and immobilised with and without fear - allowing for greater understanding and potential treatment of these states.

A much-anticipated update to the classic personal road map, full of strategies to understand, manage, and conquer your stress. Accessing the Healing Power of the Vagus Nerve: Self-Help Exercises for Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Autism ebook Accessing the Healing Power of the Vagus Nerve: Self-Help Exercises for Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Autism docPeople with fibromyalgia often have depression, yes, and depression can deepen a fibromyalgia patient’s experience of pain, but I think it’s inaccurate to say that fibromyalgia is a symptom of depression. Depression can cause aches and pains, but it’s not at all the same as fibromyalgia. For many years Stanley Rosenberg has run a school in Denmark, teaching structural integration, myofascial release, release of scar tissue, biomechanical cranio-sacral therapy, visceral massage, and biotensegrity. Following a detailed explanation of the cranial nerves, the polyvagal theory, and how craniosacral therapy can assist with restoring proper neuroception, Rosenberg provides self-help exercises to test ventral vagal function and to improve the function of the cranial nerves. I have been trying his method to turn the Vagus Nerve on with most all of my patients (and with my son). After following his precise instructions to perform the Basic Exercise (over the last 4 weeks) I have to say that I am disappointed in the results. I have not seen a big change in the uvula lift in most all of my patients (maybe I didn’t get them to yawn enough times). 5 Ways To Stimulate Your Vagus Nerve – Cleveland Clinic

It’s also unfortunate that the way he talks about autism is problematic. That it’s a tragedy. That people with autism need to be cured. Completely different way to think about health and social interaction - we don’t realize how much tension isn’t just in one part of the body. In terms of the other points of the book; Listening to this book at double speed did nothing to help how much it droned on and repeated itself. The entire first part of this book (which is about 90% of it) could easily be cut in half. There is a distinct feeling the author is trying to sound as credible and scientifically sound as possible to the average person reading or listening. This author does an excellent job of describing the Polyvagal Theory for manual therapists. If you are not a manual therapist, you may still see some benefit from reading this book. The author describes the polyvagal theory thoroughly and explains some ways of improving your autonomic state from stress or dorsal vagal to social engagement.read Accessing the Healing Power of the Vagus Nerve: Self-Help Exercises for Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Autism Furthermore, how do we know what Stanley Rosenberg means when he repeatedly states that the client improved after performing the Basic Exercise? He does not quantify the improvement beyond his observation of change. Can the vagus nerve test be quantified? Can the uvula lift be graded like other muscle tests: 0 to 5 out of 5)? Fascinating practical application of Porges' Polyvagal theory and how regulation of the cranial nerves can impact us in surprising ways.
