He’s this dub-con, psycho (he literally sends her a pair of cut off hands when she lets some creep finger bang her) stalker who is actually a self taught mastermind hacker who saves kids and women from sex trafficking. His unsettling fixation on Adeline blurs the boundaries between desire and fear, adding layers of complexity to the narrative. The main reason i am reducing one star is because the first two times they had sex, he forced himself on her. Also he’s just a massive self contradiction, fighting against human trafficking and sex crimes while actively stalking a woman and assaulting her. the book can be split up into three parts: 1, crazy stalker; 2, learning more about crazy stalker, 3, falling in love with crazy stalker.

I truly cannot fathom how someone can genuinely enjoy this book and then recommend it on TikTok where so many of its users are underage. He goes on and on about how those men should burn in hell for what they've done yet here he is casually and remorselessly stalking and raping a girl in his free time.

I disagree with the sheer number of poor reviews on this book strictly due to the fact that the readers were unprepared for the disturbing and dark content. I found her little journal entries to be riveting and the fact that Adaline had more going on than just her stalker made the character feel more rounded. I know this is a DARK THRILLER STALKER romance (this book shouldn't even be associated with the word romance but moving on) I don’t care, I want the bare minimum! As a vigilante that has an entire organisation devoted to save victims of trafficking and sexual abuse as well as destroying the ones responsible and taking part in the trade. The last 3 books I've read have all had overly submissive, nearly braindead females as the MC and I am so sick of it; they would take entire books or a whole series to grow themselves a backbone and it was purely credited to the man in their lives, so this was such a breath of fresh air!
