Hopefully this review can help you make the decision on whether the Vass Boots are the right fit for you. Waterproofing The waterproof range from Vass is growing year on year, and in the last decade the company has greatly expanded its range of waders. This range now includes steel top capped waders to offer greater protection in uncertain waters, and studded soles to provide complete grip on even the slipperiest surfaces. The range of products now goes from the heaviest duty reinforced waders on the market to entry level waders that don’t compromise on quality. The incredible durability and effectiveness of its good means that this is a brand that is popular across the fishing disciplines – in particular the brand is popular in the carp fishing community, as well as amongst fly anglers up and down the country. The winter fishing boots feature a pull out felt liner that keeps the interior of the boot nice and warm for toasty feet. These liners can be removed and then machine washed to ensure your boots do not get pungent for the next fishing trip. I had seen numerous people recommend these as an all year round boot. However, after my first trip in them during a cold spell in January, I knew straight away that these were not going to keep my feet warm.

Around the ankle, you have plenty of room too. The beauty of these boots is in the Velcro fastening at the top. This makes them adaptable for pretty much any ankle width. Plus there is the added benefit of being able to slip them on fast when you get a take! Overall though, the comfort is decent. I can happily wear these for a couple of days on the bank. They’re quite lightweight for their size too. I always buy quality waders and have owned many pairs of Ocean waders studded and non studded, I noticed over the years that Oceans quality has dipped thinner rubber and the last pair I bought were very snug fitting. However the Vass wader I have worn to death and found them to be the best waders I have ever owned. Hard wearing soles and the extra room in the body for those that are carrying a bit of extra padding is fantastic! The upper chest draw-cord and also the detachable straps, again, is a great idea so you can role the waders down to your waist and secure using the unique Vass braces as a belt with no problems. Additional reinforcement on the knees is also a great idea as with previous wader I have found that I put holes through them when kneeling down. When I’m fishing in my waders I am warm and dry whatever the weather, keeping me alert and allows me to concentrate 100% on fishing the match The fleece-lining simple makes them a little more comfortable and soft to the touch. There is no thermal insulation in these boots, therefore you will suffer from cold feet during the winter months. They might not be the warmest boots but they are great in wet weather. Are Vass Fleece Lined Boots good for winter?

Each year the Facebook groups are dominated by carp anglers asking for winter carp fishing boots, and these Vass Boots split opinions time and time again. Norwich, Norfolk, NR13 6LH, United Kingdom. Company registered in England and Wales No 05151321. VAT No GB 152140945 Sizing on the boots is OK, but only if you know to go one size up. Finally and most importantly the boot has been improved that to me is the most important part of the regeneration of these fine Chest Waders coupled with studs they are brilliant, well done Vass Once there is moisture within these boots, it tends to stay in so bear that in mind and always try to air them out at the end of a session, rather than storing them in an enclosed space. For the rest of the year though, and particularly the wetter months, these boots are absolutely spot on. The best-selling Heavy Duty Breathable Chest Waders can cope in even the harshest sea fishing environments, yet remain breathable. Using only the most technical textile technology ensures that these waders are three times more waterproof than any other waterproof wader on the market, and triple bonded technical stitching means that the product has incredible durability, making it great value for money. However, naturally I do and I often find them wet inside just from my feet. Like most waterproof products, unless there is some sort of breathable membrane, it’s hard to get any air flowing through.Earlier this year following discussions with a former well established company (Vass Rainwear & Waders) who were trailing a new style of chest wader. I was really pleased to be sent a pair of studded chest waders to put through the daily rigours of hard competitive match and pleasure angling. I believe there has been an element of poor communication in the marketing of these boots over the years. So many people consider these as an option for winter and they should be. The waterproof range from Vass is growing year after year, and in the last decade, the company has greatly expanded its range of waders. This range now includes steel top-capped waders to offer greater protection in uncertain waters. The collection of Vass waders and fishing waterproofs is pretty extensive, however, you can narrow down exactly what to look for in the right pair of Vass fishing waders for you in our Waders Buyers Guide. Vass Fishing Boots The shoes boast a double reinforced upper body of the boot which includes ankle, lower shin and toe area, ensuring flexibility when moving, crouching as well as preventing wear and tear on these highly tensioned areas.

Personally, I’ve used the Vass Fleece Lined Boots for over two years, so it’s fair to say that I can give you an honest opinion of these if they are on your shopping list. I’m going in the middle with this one and giving them a three out of five. I think you will be fine if you don’t have sweaty feet.Vass has a wide range of boots, waders, and other clothing items in its catalogue, it is the brand that will keep you dry by the bank. This is a fleece lined multi season boot designed to be used in many fishing environments throughout the year. Therefore, it's NOT intended to be a thermal insulated, heavy & bulky low temperature boot. Vass boots also include features like studded soles to provide complete grip on even the slipperiest surfaces. The range of products now goes from the heaviest-duty reinforced waders on the market to entry-level waders that don’t compromise on quality.

That being said, they’re meant to be less restrictive alternative to wellies, so having more breathable area on the upper half does make them more comfortable to wear for year-round carping. Velcro fastening makes the Vass Fleece Lined Boots easy to put on. The incredible durability and effectiveness of Vass boots mean that this is a brand that is popular across the fishing disciplines – in particular, the brand is popular in the carp fishing community, as well as amongst fly anglers up and down the country. The Vass boots are waterproof to halfway, so they’re not really ideal for standing in the margins etc. If you want something with more waterproof protection higher up the leg, consider a full height boot such as the Fortis Elements Boots. You want a pair of boots for the winter tooAs we are heading towards the colder months, I wanted to take the time to put together my Vass Fleece Lined Boots Review. Most people know Vass’ credentials when it comes to rainware, so I thought that we would be best starting there. These Vass fleece lined boots aren’t for everyone. Here are some examples of when you might want to consider some alternatives: You want a fully waterproof knee-boot In addition to Vass's usual high quality studded soule options, Vass have announced the introduction of their new Vass Mega-Stud. Not only does the sole offer more studs but the Vass Mega-Studs are longer and protrude a good 4mm from the chunky cleated sole. These are combined with a selection of standard Vass studs which are placed specific areas of the sole create optimum grip you can rely on! As you would expect, they do indeed keep the rain out. I’ve used them in torrential downpours and trekking through muddle puddles on my everyday dog walks and they stand up to the job.
