By September 2018, Marvel Studios was developing an animated anthology series based on the What If...? comic books, which would explore how the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films would be altered if certain events occurred differently. [1] [2] [3] Director Bryan Andrews met Marvel Studios executive Brad Winderbaum about the project as early as 2018, [4] and his involvement was announced in August 2019. [5] Andrews and Winderbaum executive produce alongside head writer A. C. Bradley, Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, and Victoria Alonso. [6] :2 Story editor Matthew Chauncey wrote the fifth episode, [7] titled "What If... Zombies?!", [8] which features an alternate storyline of the 2018 films Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers: Infinity War. [9] IGN 's Tom Jorgensen said the episode title was a "jokey take" on the series' established naming convention, but was "also indicative of how much thought went into selling a zombie apocalypse that works in the MCU". [10] "What If... Zombies?!" was released on Disney+ on September 8, 2021. [11] Writing [ edit ] Fans, collectors, and kids alike can enjoy this 6-inch-scale Zombie Hunter Spidey figure, inspired by the character from Marvel Entertainment He was shown to be quite the strategist and leader, having assembled and become the leader of the New Avengers to oppose the zombie Avengers, he also retains his intellect as he used Nanobots made by Earth-Z's Tony Stark filled with blood from the still living Wolverine and injected them into Sandman to create the ultimate zombie killer. But the zombie contagion was spreading through his body, and he doubled over in pain. When Mary Jane came to help she grabbed his mask, exposing Peter’s necrotized mouth as he lashed out at her and ate MJ. Aunt May came in from another room, and he told her to hide, but he presumably ate her as well. Mary Jane turned into zombie while Peter ate his aunt, but Spidey probably killed her, as zombie, again so he could eat May on his own. Marvel Studios' first animated series, What If?, is taking fans on an adventure to explore pivotal moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways.

Is Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange the MCU's Sorcerer Supreme? No one's entirely sure. The good doctor took over from Tilda Swinton's Ancient One, and she definitely was Earth's Sorcerer Supreme, so logic dictates Strange has now inherited that title. And yet, not once has he been referred to as such. Many MCU fans believe Strange will need to overcome a stringent multiversal challenge before he can truly claim the Sorcerer Supreme title as his own. No such problems for Doctor Strange's What If...? counterpart; his illustrious job title is plastered all over a new Funko Pop vinyl figure. Brad Winderbaum stated in an interview with Collider that Tom Holland's contract with Sony Pictures Studios was possibly the reason that prevented him from reprising his role as Spider-Man. [4]The man told the web-slinger that he thought the source of the problem was a “Book of the Dead”; “The Necronomicon”. They were making plans to search for it, when Colonel America launched himself into the air, and bit Spider-Man on the shoulder. Spidey dropped Ash Williams at the feet of the newly zombified Avengers, and crashed to the ground. Parker with his Web-Shooters A pair of wrist-mounted mechanical device that Peter created and used to project synthetic webbing. Parker invented the first pair while Stark created a new and improved pair to go along with his new suit. Though, this new pair supplied by Stark merely involved technological improvements and a few new features while the overall mechanics and webbing itself Stark did not attempt to replace.

The radioactive, complex mutagenic enzymes in the spider's blood that were transferred at the time of the bite triggered numerous body-wide mutagenic changes within Parker, granting him superhuman strength, stamina, durability, speed, agility, reflexes, and equilibrium.
