The Prime comes with 4 – dampener, ball, thumb and cone. The Elite has 5 attachments – same as Prime, plus the wedge head. The new Pro comes with 6 attachments – the two others are supersoft and the brand new micropoint (replaces cone). PRO If it comes down to portability for when you’re on the move (hiking, biking, or kayaking for a few days), the mini is the better option because it’s smaller, lighter and now also USB-C enabled. Our significant investments in engineering, technology, product, and software development are the reason we are the only company with four generations of products in the industry.

Theragun Pro Review - Is It Still Worth It In 2023? Theragun Pro Review - Is It Still Worth It In 2023?

Today it is time for the Theragun Pro review! We finally got our hands on Theragun’s top gun – the powerful Theragun Pro G5, or 5 th generation.Elite and Prime have okay batteries but the majority of other brands have way better juiced up batteries. For example, Ekrin B37 and B37S can last up to 8 hours on a single charge with their Samsung branded batteries. There are also other devices capable of 4-8 hours per charge. Achedaway knows how to handle the noise business. Their Pro is super quiet. Contrary to Theragun, it doesn’t sound rough at all. It remains the quietest high-amplitude massage gun in the market (the higher the stroke length, the noisier the device usually is). We’ve seen people argue that the loud noise is a tradeoff for the increased power of the Pro vs. the Elite or Prime. However, this doesn’t necessarily hold water. We have reviewed many devices that are just as powerful that are quieter.

Alex Stone is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA). He currently practices orthopedics in Bellevue, Washington, and manages an online health coaching business via social media (@dr.alexstone). He is passionate about health science education and general health/wellness optimization. The Pro comes with 6 attachments, so one more than the Elite and the same as the G4. Theragun PRO comes with 6 attachments. In our handling of the device, we found that the arm is glossy and quite a magnet for fingerprints, but we didn’t find ourselves touching it as frequently. If you are buff with muscles or a serious performer, you need a powerful, high stall force gun with a long amplitude. The Pro delivers all these without compromising. From an ergonomic standpoint, after handling all the models, we can confidently say it’s the best Theragun, and it’s not just due to the multiple grip handle.. The famous Theragun multiple grip handle. Unless you’re a therapist or a chiropractor, or you need to give a massage to another person, or you’re looking for plenty of stall force (bodybuilders, pro athletes, and weightlifters), Elite will be good enough for the job.

What is the difference between the 4th generation of devices

In our opinion, reducing the amplitude to around 12 to 13mm and boosting the stall force to at least 40 lbs. could enhance the Prime’s effectiveness. With a device like that you can get a deep percussive massage even on large muscle groups – pecs, hamstrings, glutes etc. It would still be below the Elite but it would hit with better intensity when pressed against the skin. You can still get 2-2.5 hours of battery time. However, we did notice that if you use more pressure and higher speeds – overwork the motor – the batteries drain faster. This is a Theragun-unique attachment that has a soft foam attached to it and it’s meant to work on tender, sore, bony, and joint areas.Like we mentioned above, some devices have a higher percussions-per-minute rating. For example, the Hypervolts have a percussion range of up to 3200rpm, some rev up to 3800rpm. However, these do not have the long stroke length like what you get with the Theraguns. People can also use balms, oils, and salves to treat muscle soreness. Products containing CBD are also increasingly popular options. The Pro, however, is not just the heaviest of all Theraguns, but at 2.8lbs. it’s also one of the heaviest massage guns on the market – 0.6lbs heavier than its two counterparts. Percussions refer to hits per minute delivered by the massage gun head. The more the hits per minute, the more effective the massage. Different brands approach this area differently in relation to other performance features on their devices. Each routine can be customized with different speeds, time and force applied. You can use the < and > arrows to cycle through these routines. We think that this is an amazing feature to have.

April 17, 2023 FAQ section added, answering common questions about Theragun devices. (Author: Greg) The Supersoft attachment is our favorite one specifically because you can easily use it on bony areas. Despite the general recommendation against using massage guns on these areas, the Supersoft attachment safely allows for it.In our hands, it felt slightly heavier than the Elite and Prime – actually 0.3lbs heavier. We suspected that it’s because it carries the pride of the family – a factor we explore further in our review. The company lists a wide range of health conditions that are not compatible with the Theragun, including deep vein thrombosis, severe cardiac, kidney, and liver disease, scoliosis, and uncontrolled hypertension, among others. How often should I use the Theragun?
