There are some sweet moments in this book, Sorin and Bertram truly fall in love and Sorin learns he can trust one dragon (besides his children), but there are hard decisions and sacrifices made as well and a lot of time spent without each other. But throughout all this there is love.

This is an epic story of love growing from an intense initial hatred and distrust and its a painful journey for both omega and dragon. I am excited to read the final installment, I have some theories as to how it will progress and what causes the issues. The end of book 1 catches us up to the beginning of Clutch. Mila is known for her dark romance but even though this book isn't as dark it's still just as spicy. This is Sebastian & Sarena story with a taboo, age gap, boss/employee romance.The story/stories 1 Star - None of the characters had decent chemistry and most of the stories were centered exclusively on sex wrapped around dom/subs, 1/2 truths that really didn't do anything, 3 brothers who were "billionaire" escort service providers, and were supposedly broken by their upbringing. The women and love interests weren't much better. I thought the first book in the 4 leaned toward a menage theme, but it changed to one brother getting the girl. The second book played off of that relationship and by book #3 the rejected brother finally was finding the love of his life. I'd had enough. Every time I read Bertram’s POV in the beginning and he doubted Sorin I wanted to shake him or bash him into the wall. But I had to remind myself that this was in the past before all the recently learned information about dragons and their human counterparts. That didn’t help me so much with Grimbold’s interactions, I may never forgive that man. Sin Wagon by Cassie Lien - This was my next favorite, which is age gap. We have Delilah, our head strong and independent fmc, but not without her own troubles, especially when it comes to her family. Wells is the older mmc. He gives off the dominant personality and the protecter in one. After a met up one night, Wells has to leave. He has what is supposed to be Delilah phone number, but it's not. So now their on their own, each thinking something of the other until 7 months later when they see each other at the worst place possible. This is also a preview introduction to a full book coming soon. This story leaves you wanting more with its age gap, miscommunication (with thinking the worst about each other after the phone number miss up), and a very forbidden love interest. I had a feeling that Raven would force me to reevaluate everything I thought I knew about Bertram and his mate, and that's absolutely what this story did. Piece by piece, I learned the unedited truth of Sorin's past, experienced a small fraction of the horrors that shaped him into the man I met throughout the rest of the series, and fell head over heels for his and Bertram's love connection. I genuinely didn't know how happy this book would be, but despite all of the horrible truths there were plenty of sweet and satisfying moments as Bertram and Sorin fell in love. Bertram was such a mysterious and unknown brother throughout the rest of this series, so finally getting to uncover some of his secrets and see what a good heart he had felt even more exciting to me. His connection with Sorin grew slowly, and at first they were absolutely enemies, but over time their preconceived ideas about each other shifted until the last of their reservations had vanished entirely. I really enjoyed seeing Bertram's perspective shift over time as he started to believe Sorin about his awful mistreatment at the hands of dragons, and seeing him get personally involved in the fight to free omegas was awesome. Sorin's trust initially only extended as far as Bertram would allow him access to his children, but over time they grew into such a sweet family unit with lots of happy memories together. That's not to say that all of this story was happy--Bertram and Sorin's relationship could only ever be a secret, and as a result they had long periods of separation that weighed on each of them. Sorin was also dealing with severe mental and emotional trauma from his past, and he had to fight every day to keep the negative voices in his head from taking over. There was also the sinister mystery of Sorin's power hanging over their heads, business with the dragon council forcing them apart, and Drake family surprise visits to keep them on their toes, but Bertram and Sorin never wavered in their love for one another. Life threw so much at the two of them, and still every time they came together it was a joyous, passionate reunion with deep love tying them together. I can't wait to see where the second half of their journey will take them, and I'm already bracing myself for some difficult moments before (hopefully) they get their happy ending.
