In the past, Chūya struggled greatly with his identity and place in humanity. His connection to Arahabaki ended in him questioning how human he truly was, worsened by not knowing the truth behind why he was freed from the government's possession in the first place. While his strength lies in his ability, the awareness of a god's effects on him left him feeling as though he wouldn't feel worried nor fear in a fight, knowing he'd most likely win without a scratch. He attributed this to being - in his mind - inhuman, and thus unable to understand the depth of such emotions.

An anime film, titled Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple, opened in Japan in March 2018. Crunchyroll began streaming the film in September 2018, and Funimation began streaming the film in June 2019. In the midst of their battle, Gin urges Akutagawa to forget her and asserts that he is born to do evil. Atsushi transforms into a white tiger, and they both fall off the Mafia headquarters. Meanwhile, Dazai cheerily converses with Oda, until Oda turns hostile at the Mafia boss. Dazai ultimately reveals that their current world is one of many worlds and that they were friends in the original world; he soon imparts his goodbye to Oda. Kanaineko's Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! (Bungo Stray Dogs Ruff!) spinoff manga inspired a television anime that premiered in January. Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.

Where do I begin? The novel is so well adapted to the big screen, the writing, the characters, sets, costumes… all of it it’s just wonderful and loyal to the original series. The BSD world has come to life with this film and I love it! The acting and fight scenes were on point, and I enjoyed the cinematography, although the tight budget for the visual effects was pretty obvious. However, they still managed to do a decent job. I know isn't cheap to make a movie where almost all your characters have supernatural powers, so I have to give them extra points for the effort! The cast did a wonderful job as well, reprising their roles from the stages plays. Although I missed Tawada Hideya as Dazai, I have to admit that Tabuchi Rui was amazing on the role! Oh my, he definitely has those crazy vibes from Dazai! XD COVER Corporation Announces hololive English VTuber Gawr Gura Collaboration with Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium Dazai is much grimmer, although he still holds his dark, sardonic sense of humor at the worst of times. As the Boss of the Port Mafia, Dazai made many enemies, but the Mafia's influence spans even greater than Mori's influence during his leadership. A live-action film, Beast was confirmed in March 2020 to be in development. It is based on a light novel of the same name by Kafka Asagiri, who also acted as writer, while Koichi Sakamoto directed the movie. [2] Actors Yūki Torigoe (Atsushi Nakajima) and Shohei Hashimoto (Ryunosuke Akutagawa) reprised their roles from the original plays, while almost all of the cast remains the same. [3] Several actors have commented the film will have a different style from plays. [4] [5]

His Japanese voice actor, Kishō Taniyama, is the singer of GRANRODEO who sung the OP theme of Bungo Stray Dogs season 1 - TRASH CANDY. GRANRODEO later sang again for DEAD APPLE's OP theme, Deadly Drive, and season 3's OP theme, Setsuna no Ai. What if the Port Mafia's Hellhound, Ryunosuke Akutagawa, had joined the Armed Detective Agency? Likewise, what if Atsushi Nakajima belonged to the Port Mafia? In the parallel world of Bungo Stray Dogs: Beast, fledgling detective Akutagawa's desperate mission to rescue his younger sister from the Port Mafia's clutches brings him face-to-face with the organization's fearsome White Reaper…a.k.a. Atsushi Nakajima. What does fate have in store for the two beasts in this alternate tale of darkness versus light…? [4] Summary [ ] Chapter 0Sakunosuke Oda survives the war against Mimic, as he was not present during its main events, and works in the Armed Detective Agency, acting somewhat as a mentor for Akutagawa after finding him starving to death by a riverbank. His friendship with Dazai is nonexistent, having never met him, and Oda allows no friendship between them. This is the only world in which he survives.
