Where possible, we take these suitcases travelling with us. This gives us an idea of what they're like to use in the real world; how practical they are, how smoothly the wheels glide along the airport floor, and generally how robust they are. While we can't take every suitcase we recommend on holiday with us, we do look at the materials they're made from, the design features, durability, and specs, to understand whether they work as intended or not. Oh, and even the luggage doesn’t have a proper grab handle at the bottom, there is a hollow space that you can hold onto when trying to place it in an overhead compartment. The Main Compartment

Are you travelling with the family? Then you'll want this luggage set from Aerolite. It comprises of a 55cm cabin case (which meets cabin regulations of all major airlines), a 69cm medium case, and 73cm large case. Combined, this will give you 250 litres of luggage space! The Samsonite Flux luggage collection features four hard side suitcases, only one of which is carry-on sized. All four of the suitcases have the exact same features, so the only thing you need to worry about is which size is right for you. Of more concern, potentially, is how robust and smooth-running the wheels are: ideally, they needed to be bolted (rather than riveted) to the case so they can easily be replaced if one does break, it also helps if they're recessed into the case corners a little – this makes them less vulnerable when they’re being tossed around by baggage handlers and have the advantage of making the footprint of the case slightly smaller. Suitcase sizes explained Wherever your next adventure takes you, the Samsonite Flux Spinner 4-Wheel 75cm Suitcase offers protection for your belongings and the perfect travelling companion. The benefit of spinner wheels is that you don’t have to tilt your suitcase to get them rolling, unlike with in-line skate wheels. This removes any strain from your arm and makes it much easier to move around with a really heavy piece of luggage. On top of that, spinner wheels can move in any direction, which means you can push the suitcase in front of you or just drag it alongside you if you want.

That’s when you get a polypropylene suitcase. Even though it’s not as tough and durable as polycarbonate, it is a close second. The shell won’t break easily, but it is not as flexible as a PC. We’ll also suggest some other suitcases that are similar to the Flux, for those of you that realize that it’s not entirely up their alley. And we will be brutally honest – as you’ll soon see, the review starts off with a shortlist of items we love and hate about the Samsonite Flux. Why you can trust T3 Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

A striking, cutting-edge look combines with engineering that makes travelling easy thanks to smooth rolling double wheels, a double tube wheel handle and a fully-lined practical interior for organising your items.

This 67cm case, though, is fairly typical. Winner of a Red Dot design award, it’s a hard shell spinner case that nevertheless manages to be expandable too, stretching from 71.5 litres to 81 litres when fully loaded — and it comes in five bright and breezy colours that are guaranteed to make it stand out on an airport carousel, so too will its circular, vinyl record-like design. Sometimes only a huge suitcase will do — and this rolling duffel case from premium luggage maker, Briggs & Riley, fits the bill perfectly. Samsonite is commitment to reducing its impact on the planet, and, as such, has recently launched theMagnum Eco Spinner. The Eco Spinner is made in Europe and crafted withrecycled post-consumerwaste: using recycled yoghurt cups for the shells and recycled PET bottles for the interior lining. These suitcases are the fruit of Samsonite's commitment tosustainability, without compromising onqualityandcomfort. Meaning that if your suitcase gets damaged in the first five years you own it, you can send it to Samsonite for free repairs. And if they can’t repair it, they will send you a brand new one. Whether you're off on a city break or travelling for business, Fabbrica Pelletterie Milano's 'Spinner' suitcase is a hardy and robust option. Not to mention, its bright aluminium case really looks the part. There are some manufacturers who offer guarantees that include damage caused by airlines, for example Briggs & Riley and certain products by Victorinox. The Fluxis equipped with four double spinner wheels. They are smooth and silent like good spinner wheels should be. But keep in mind that the Flux collection is pretty new – as time goes by, their prices will drop. So, if it’s a little too pricey for you now, just wait a couple of months until there’s some sort of a sale. Samsonite Flux Review: Is It Right For You? Less likely to snap off: because the 2- wheels are set into the case you won't find baggage handlers using the wheels as handles when they are getting your bag on of off the aircraft. Polypropylene is one of the top three materials used in hard side luggage. The other two are ABS and Polycarbonate. If we were to rate them, PC would be the best, polypropylene would be the second and ABS would come in third.

That curvy design isn't just for looks, however, because with an expanded capacity of 83L, it's incredibly practical as well, with plenty of space for a fortnight's worth of travelling. What came up several times was praise from people that travel a lot. That does tie-in with the amount of Samsonite you see being pulled by business travellers these days. Before the introduction of 2-wheel suitcases you had to carry your luggage, so lets raise a glass to celebrate this invention! While 4-wheel cases have become more popular over recent years, 2-wheelers are still a great option especially for a cabin case. That’s the basic version of what we loved and didn’t love about the Samsonite Flux. You can find a lot more details in the rest of this review! About The Flux Collection When you’re buying a case, you obviously need to think about why you're buying it, and what you’re going to use it for – you’re clearly not going to want to take a massive case with you if you’re going on an overnight business trip or a weekend away; but likewise you won’t want a tiny case when you’re off for a month in Kathmandu.John Lewis plc, registered office: 171 Victoria Street, London SW1E 5NN. Much of what makes the Samsonite Lite-Box the best suitcase is to do with the materials and contemporary design employed here. Lite-Box is among the lightest and sturdiest suitcases in its class, with the polycarbonate model weighing just 2.7kg and the aluminium model weighing in at 5.9kg.
