Having purchased the previous physical copies of Celtic Daily Prayer and used them now a good few years I was very glad to be able to get this on Kindle.

Links forwards and backwards between the readings and Morning / Evening Prayer all work correctly, and I've found no need to use bookmarks to save pages. We are almost done our 31 day prayer challenge, and I’ve been waiting to introduce you to Celtic Daily Prayer. My only complaint is -- and it's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 -- that the paperback is soon losing its morning-prayer pages since I refer to them everyday, so I wonder if the hardback wouldn't be a better choice.The words of the Daily Office are drawn from a variety of sources, such as St Patrick’s Breastplate, Teresa’s Bookmark, Columba’s Blessing, etc – and from Psalm 27 for Morning Prayer, Psalm 90 for Midday Prayer and Psalm 130 for Evening Prayer. At Nether Springs, the mother house of the Community, the Office is said or sung at set times in the chapel; when Companions in the Community meet together, saying the Office can be a routine part of the meeting; and individuals and families can use it in their homes as part of daily life. As well as the Daily Office, there are four original Communion services, along with liturgies and prayers that have emerged out of real-life experiences of seeking God in many differing contexts throughout the world. I am tempted to dissect a copy and scan it into several PDF files to make it more manageable for daily travel ~ (maybe on a monthly or seasonal basis) - Unfortunately it is not offered in any e-formats of PDF or Kindle versions to my knowlege. I had hoped for it sooner as I was on sabbatical 2018/19 and had to leave the physical copy at home. The bonus for me [other than the beauty of its prayers] is that timewise it's a lot more user friendly for someone with a busy schedule [that'll be most of us then ;o)].

Many (especially those whose church tradition usually scorns such gestures) find that making the sign of the cross at this juncture helps to reinforce the significance of the words. The Daily Office – Morning, Midday and Evening Prayer – is at the core of the life of the Northumbria Community.Some find that the mornings tend to be too rushed for lengthy silences and that this can best wait till evening prayer.
