Description

With this DUSK mattress topper, you can transform your sleep surface from uncomfortable and uncompromising to plush and luxurious. In fact, you’ll be able to recreate a boutique hotel experience, with that extra quilted cushioning. Add it to a mattress that’s near to needing replacing or pop it on top of one that you just can’t seem to get along with. But, as with the other comfort enhancers on this list, just don't expect it to be ideal if you need a firmer support layer. Temperature control was one testing area where the topper excelled. We’ve attributed this to steady airflow through the coil layer and the cooling, heat-dissipating cover. Motion isolation and pressure relief are other defining strengths. Since the topper does not have corner straps to secure it to your mattress, you may notice some shifting during position changes. If you're looking for an affordable way to make your bed a little warmer on cold nights, then Silentnight's Heat Genie Self-Heating mattress topper could well fit the bill. A few other familiar benefits that come with the topper are a machine washable cover and a 100-night trial period that gives you plenty of time to try the topper out before you decide whether or not you want to commit to it. What’s more, thanks to Emma’s regular promotional sales, you will rarely have to pay full price for it. Add a cooling mattress topper. Adding one of the best cooling mattress toppers to your mattress can definitely help if you have a synthetic mattress and feel like the heat is being reflected towards you from your mattress' surface.

If you're looking for a better night's sleep, then although even the best mattress toppers on the market can't beat investing in the best mattress your budget allows, they can prove a good interim solution whilst you save for the mattress of your dreams. Unlike a mattress protector, which is a thin fabric covering that simply adds an extra layer of protection to your mattress, a mattress topper is a much more robust affair. Usually measuring at least 5cm deep, it's a substantial layer that can be placed over the top of your existing mattress to add comfort and support. The Silk & Snow Organic Mattress Topper is made entirely from certified organic materials. With two firmness levels to choose from, many sleepers on our testing team were able to find a model that felt comfortable and supportive. The Topper was a UK comic published by D. C. Thomson & Co. Ltd that ran from 7 February 1953 to 15 September 1990, when it merged with The Beezer.

Silk: Another luxury option, silk is super smooth, soft and hypoallergenic. It’s a delicate material though, so it’ll require care when it comes to washing. If however your mattress is just a little past its best, or you are planning on getting a replacement in the next couple of years, then a mattress topper is an affordable way to improve your sleep without the full commitment and expense. Do I need a mattress topper or a protector?Although it’s made from 100% polyester, it’s actually made up of two layers – the top one being extra soft, while the core provides the firmness. So there’s no need to worry about the kind of sponginess that can leave you feeling suffocated and we found it’s particularly good if you’re prone to aches and pains. The elastic straps keep it secure on the bed and it’s nice and warm (a good job as you can’t use an electric blanket with it), although that can be a downside if you get clammy at night. Though we’ve called this a “cooling mattress topper”, no topper will work to actively cool you down throughout the night. But as silk can help to regulate body temperature, it’s a better option than memory foam for those who get too hot during the night. We like the fact that this topper also has an added bottom chamber that’s filled with a generous layer of gently supportive microfibre – the upshot of which is that it’s much comfier than many of the thinner pure silk toppers available. The elastic straps keep it firmly in place, too. And as you are much less likely to perspire when sleeping on silk, the silk filling remains free from dust mites – great for allergy sufferers, who will also be pleased to learn that silk is naturally hypoallergenic. Memory Foam: Memory foam toppers are ideal if you like to sink into the surface of your bed. The material conforms closely to evenly distribute your weight and keep your shoulders, spine, and hips aligned. For this reason, many side sleepers prefer memory foam toppers. Memory foam also isolates motion transfer very well and does not produce any noise, making it a great option for couples and co-sleepers. Although memory foam can trap heat, toppers can be infused with gel, graphite, copper, and other cooling materials to help the surface maintain a comfortable temperature. We're big fans of the Simba Hybrid Mattress so it's perhaps no surprise that we like the brand's hybrid mattress topper, too. The jury is split on the topper's breathability claims, with one tester finding they slept cooler, but other self-described 'hot sleepers' saying they didn't notice much relief. However, the antislip base and straps are well worth a mention. Most mattress toppers are attached by straps, but in our experience, they're prone to pinging off. The Simba Hybrid Topper straps stayed firm in our testing, but even if they hadn't, the topper was going nowhere thanks to its anti-slip base.
