Description

The OTTY deluxe pillow uses the same technologies from their highly sought after mattresses. From the cover, foam layers and special properties of the design, but we’ll get to all that shortly. Secondly, make sure that the fibres on the protector or outer case are tightly woven. If you can see bits of feather or strands of fibres poking through the pillow, the outer casing likely isn't tight enough to prevent mites from entering. The pillow’s two polyester microfibre layers are encased in a soft padded pillowcase. With both layers inserted, the pillow has a good amount of loft, which is a good thing for side sleepers who need to support their head and shoulder (though we also found the pillow to be comfortable and supportive with just the one insert). While most of the pillows on our roundup have a machine washable cover, you might also be pleased to hear that this pillow – inserts and all – can be popped in the washing machine at a temperature up to 60°C. Memory foam is typically made out of polyurethane, which isn't a suitable environment for dust mites to live in and is hypoallergenic. They're often the most supportive and last a longer time than other pillows. They can be too warm though, and some people dislike how dense they can be. A common complaint for many sleepers, and one that is often associated with memory foam, is overheating. Designed with temperature regulation as a top priority, however, REM-Fit’s memory foam Snow Pillow aims to remedy this problem.

For instance, taking the height of a pillow into consideration is necessary when recommending a pillow for side sleepers, who might want a firmer, more lofty pillow to support their shoulder. How warm a temperature can feel during the night will vary depending on what it’s made from: all-foam pillows, for example, will retain heat more than non-foam ones, making them a less viable option for those prone to overheating. To test the edge support further, I used an 8kg weight to measure the sinkage on the sides of bed, which came at around 1.5inches. This seems average for a hybrid bed like this and in keeping with the sinkage measurements in the middle of the bed as previously mentioned. It’s time now to complete this OTTY pillow review, and I would like to share my final thoughts with you. In my opinion, the OTTY pillow would be a great choice for everyone looking for:

Don't Miss Out!

It’s easy to assume this is irrelevant as you’ll have a pillowcase covering it. But it’s worth noting that natural cover fabrics such as cotton have much more breathability than polyester and other man-made fibres, which can make for a far more comfortable night’s sleep if you’re prone to getting hot at night. How we test pillows While these materials are resistant to dust mites, they can still can live within these pillows. If you're looking for an anti-allergy pillow, be sure to buy one that's specifically had its filling treated, or make sure to clean your pillow often. What to look for in an anti-allergy pillow We've compiled our best advice when shopping for an anti-allergy or hypoallergenic pillow to help ease your symptoms. What is the difference between hypoallergenic pillows and anti-allergy pillows? Where relevant, we also take into account other aspects including trial periods, washable covers and extra features – such as adjustable and ergonomic designs – all of which can play a part in our recommendations.

Either way, when sleeping on this pillow, you shouldn't have to worry about any allergic reactions. If you suffer from asthma or other respiratory issues, this pillow won't do anything to aggravate your issues. So, sleep soundly. SupportiveThe thing is, memory foam has become ubiquitous in today’s mattress and bedding market, with almost every brand under the sun seeming to offer its own foam products. So how is the discerning bedding buyer expected to separate the wheat from the chaff? Anti-allergy pillows will be labelled specifically as anti-allergy or anti-bacterial, and will contain a chemical like Lurol AM-7 or dimethyloctadecyl[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ammonium chloride (yes, that is the real name!). What are hypoallergenic and anti-allergy pillows usually made of? Dormeo uses its unique “octaspring” technology across its range of mattresses, toppers and pillows. As such, the Octasmart Pillow is more than a little reminiscent of, and just as impressive as, the fabulous Octasmart Deluxe topper that appears in our roundup of best memory foam mattress toppers.
