I greatly disliked the original Connemara Peated Whiskey the first time I tried it. On the second occasion, about two years later, I still disliked it… greatly. Ireland also has its own local version of "moonshine," an unaged whiskey called potcheen (also spelled poitín or poteen). Because it's not aged for three years, it can’t legally have “Irish whiskey” on the label, but it is another type of whiskey made in Ireland.

But that wasn’t the case. I first tried the 45% blended Irish whiskey, with its palate of velvety texture and sweet flavours, during a visit to the Dublin distillery and I was very pleasantly surprised.
