About this deal
The 85-377 from Ideal is a pack of 100 Feed-Thru Cat6 8P8C modular connector plugs, this the first feed-thru style connector and tool solution to offer a flush cut of the excess conductor to the face of the modular plug. Design: The design of RJ-45 connectors is standardised and has not changed since the connectors invention. The most common way by manufacturers to achieve this distance is a plastic insert that runs the entire length of the cable. RJ45 connectors are a standardized network interface for ethernet connections and are often used in LAN (Local Area Network) setups with UTP cabling. The plastic insert looks like a "+" sign if you crossection it and each of the 4 pairs of wire then can fit in each quadrant of that insert.
Manufacturers then added a tiny, rediculously annoying piece to the male plugs to fix this and be in conformance to CAT6 separation requirements.
The FTP Cat6 modular plugs are made from high quality engineering plastic with brass gold over nickel plating contacts. Note this is for field terminated RJ45s, manufacturers can produce products of greater tolerance and as such can be flat.
Available in a wide range of standard colours, Comlynx boots enable colour matching to most makes of pre-terminated patching cable and unlike boots made from a harder rubber compounds, our flexible rubber boots ensure ease of latch disengagement.
For best results use with the 'Easy' crimp tool, it allows you to cut, strip and terminate a plug all in one. Remove any ripcord, PE tape, or waterproof tape all the way down to the end of the cable jacket using flush cutters. While looking around for some plugs to use for running and crimping some bulk Cat-6 cable, I noticed the online sites show RJ-45 plugs for Cat-5e and separate ones for Cat-6.
