I also recently bought the CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion PM 52ml when I *accidentally* impaired my barrier, which resulted in rough and red skin. As with most products, I think working active ingredients into your skincare routine slowly is the way to go — especially as I'm someone who doesn't usually tend to play with spicy salicylic acid.

As with all Cerave products, I expected this cleanser to follow the same base formula, which includes the three essential Ceramides: Glycerin, Cholesterol and Hyaluronic Acid. Featuring a lightweight gel-to-foam texture, the gentle formula thoroughly cleanses and refines the skin, without leaving your base feeling stripped or tight. Formulated with an oil-absorbing technology using Hectorite Clay, CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser helps remove dirt and excess oil, to minimise shine. For this review, I used the product back to back for about one week and let me tell you, it did not end well.The decently sized 236ml white pump bottle comes in white cardboard packaging, which is rather minimalist except for all the text repeated in multiple langues. It works to even out the appearance of skin tone and texture while also soothing the skin with its anti-inflammatory properties. Powered by oil-absorbing technology, hectorite clay diminishes excess sebum to promote a more mattified appearance, while helping to replenish essential moisture.

I absolutely loved this cleanser, it’s fragrance-free, has a thick gel consistency and foams up really well so it’s good for removing excess oil, dirt sunscreen, light makeup etc.

I also sandwiched the lotion and retinol with hydrating serums and moisturisers to keep things really comfy and minimise the chance of irritation. As someone who gets regular breakouts around my chin, I was interested to put their more active products to the test. I was particularly excited to try this Blemish Control Cleanser as I still have acne into my thirties and keen to be rid of it!
