The Fiat "Quick Release" connector for the clutch line suffers a classic example of disimilar meta corrosion. It appears that moisture/road-salt has entered around the joint and seized it together, possible expanding in the process and cracking the connector.
We are subscribed to the National Conciliation Service (NCS) which is the UK’s certified automotive retail Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider. But Fiat have used an aluminium case with stainless steel spring fingers inside to retain the fitting. Stainless Steel braided fuel hose - suitable for commercial fuels and fuel mixtures up to a maximum of 50% Benzol. Stainless steel tube, Kunifer pipe, stainless steel braided TFE brake and clutch hose (with and without black PVC cover), fuel hose with neoprene cover or stainless braided outer, Acetylene and master cylinder gravity feed tube. Three (that's 3) Jubillee clips on each end of the new hose made sure it couldn't slide off under pressure.

AN specification refers to ‘dash’ sizes, arrived at by multiplying the nominal bore of the hose by 16, hence ½” hose is -8. I did find it was hard then just snapped together, only to find I had routed the pipe over rather than under near the bulkhead but was able to wiggle the whole thing to the point of being correct. A high pressure hose with excellent fluid compatibility and a stainless steel cover that is resistant to corrosion and abrasion. Genuine Saab plastic connector fitted between the clutch pipe and slave cylinder, also connects to reservoir feed pipe. Could anyone confirm or advise if this will work, or does the original connector serve any other purpose? Guess what, the little rubber bung has been sitting in my oil drain pan for two months, after two oil changes as well. I have the other pipe to replace with the slave cylinder due to corrosion where it meets the slave cylinder? Care must be taken in fitting to ensure that the hoses do not contact any moving part under conditions of extreme suspension travel and/or full steering lock.
