Honestly, DEAD INSIDE has a Tarantino-esque quality about it in the sense that it is SO over-the-top offensive, SO over-the-top disgusting that it's *almost* funny. It is just refreshing to see a subject, so widely accepted as perverted or disgusting or abhorrent on the basis of nothing but certain moral opinions being rattled and furthered to the point of ridicule, by an author questioning openly and honestly to the point of agitation, almost political in nature.MC and Helen are bound to be doomed and despite the short intermezzo encompassing their unity and Helen’s efforts, it is clear from the very first page that there are no rose gardens in their future. This book is horribly revolting but this author is so unbelievably talented that I can't stop myself from reading more. like, “why are you eating that dead baby,” or “what the fuck is going on here,” or “don’t you at least want some sauce to dip that in, or something. They are on a journey together into the lurid recesses of societal norms and there is no turning back.

A deep sense of adventure that can only be quenched by chasing anything that can and should be over indulged. It’s bizarre, twisted, one of those splatterpunk kinds of books that is just beyond weird and well, disturbing. He makes the reader aware of how people who are different from the rest of us feel, if indeed they feel anything. about two people way off in the darkened shadows at the very edge of societal norms coming together to change each other for the. It isn’t clear what happened to the protagonist whether he was caught or whether like Helen he worked his way up to murder.Something I did like about this book is that for the most part it didn’t feel like the author was 100% going for shock value to sell this. Okay so, never, ever, in my life have I read anything so vile, disturbing, sickening, grotesque, appalling.
