The album charted in the top ten both sides of the Atlantic and also featured a collaboration with country and Western star Tim McGraw on Nine Lives. Seriously, considering it’s length, it still retains Hysteria’s iconic sonic punch whilst bathing in theatrical nirvana. This 30th anniversary Super Deluxe Edition has been prepared in conjunction with singer Joe Elliott who has acted as executive producer on the set, the mastering has been done by the band’s long-serving sound engineer Ronan McHugh. Excellent new release from Def Leppard, but when you have already released one of 'the' studio albums of all time (Hysteria) - how can you better it?

Review: Rock and classical royalty unite on Def Leppard and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's brand new album, Drastic Symphonies. Band members Joe Elliott, Rick Savage, Rick Allen and Phil Collen have also contributed introductions to the set. The 3rd in four volumes of the band's complete recorded output, this box set contains all of the recordings from the band in the 2000's and features the original packaging. Tokyo's prestigious Kokusai Forum was the venue for the show, which was recorded for live FM Broadcast across Japan, and it features plenty of the tunes from their seventh album, Euphoria, released on 8 June 1999.Its less loud than the 2017 pressing, the bass and the drums have less power, but to me it sounds more balanced and the listening for me is more enjoyable. Its hard to sum up this album but my favorite memories of this was when I would listen to this album on the way to vacation in Wild Wood NJ which was an obscure amusement ride mecca.
