About this deal

Of course, as the Kindred are artifacts of great power, the heroes aren't the only ones hunting them. Morgan Rhodes has created a rich, living fantasy world and characters that immediately draw the reader in. When Gaius makes his first public speech to the kingdom, Cleo disguises herself and waits with the people outside the palace to hear the address. Since the Kindred were no longer in the Sanctuary, the sisters were trapped in mortal bodies in the mortal world. When Gaius announces that a road is to be built into the Forbidden Mountains, formally linking all of Mytica together, he sets off a chain of cataclysmic events that will forever change the face of this land.

CLEO: Reeling after a bloody showdown in Limeros ending with Amara’s abduction of the water crystal, and a vacancy in the Mytican throne, Princess Cleo must cast aside her feelings and look toward her kingdom with the eyes of a Queen. MAGNUS stands to eventually inherit the new kingdom but is still obsessed with his feelings for his adopted sister Lucia. The only land that supports life is along the coast, everything else is dry, barren, and/or somehow cursed. Falling Kingdoms is perfect for fans of George RR Martin's Game of Thrones, JRR Tolkein's The Hobbit, and Trudy Canavan's Black Magician trilogy . There are no good or bad characters they are just forced to make certain choices and take certain paths. Princess Cleo and vengeful Jonas lead them, slaying with sweetness, skill, and a secret that can control Lucia’s overpowering magic - all so they can use the Kindred to win back their fallen kingdoms. I would have preferred that the last half of book six was the conflict being resolved and things between characters explored a little more.

In this Game of Thrones -esque high fantasy, Rhodes has created a world that’s raging with war, deceit, spoiled royals, and a populous needing little to spark a revolution. When Cleo leaves the following morning, she asks Eirene for a way to contact her so she can send her a token of appreciation. He starts to pray for the goddess to let him live so he can make things right…and then hears a wolf howling, much to his ire.In some ways, I now understand the comparisons to Game of Thrones because this narrative is just as fatal to its characters as George R.

Of the three countries in Mythica, Limeros to the north is cold and inhospitable; Paelsia in the middle is poor, dry and barren; and Auranos in the south boasts a temperate climate and is wealthy.I rate it 8 because of the cliche and there is always room for improvement, for this genre and age group I think it was worth the time. Falling Kingdoms, the first novel of the series, was published in 2012, [2] [3] followed by Rebel Spring (2014), [4] Gathering Darkness (2014), [5] Frozen Tides (2015), [6] Crystal Storm (2016), [7] and finally Immortal Reign (2018), which concludes the series. Chekhov's Gun: While arguing with Cleo in Frozen Tides, an enraged Magnus throws the earth Kindred at the wall, unintentionally triggering a small earthquake. Even though I enjoyed all books and the storyline among them all, I do think the series didn’t need to be as long as it was.
