Indeed, it’s a largely intimate scent that doesn’t announce itself too much; you could even say Fusion d’Issey is maybe even a bit too polite for its own good, as it could benefit by turning up the spice in the middle notes to give the coconut water some oomph. The explosive freshness from the beginning of the composition includes citrus and fruit aromas, lemon being one of them, and sweet coconut milk. Perfumes with natural ingredients often smell different in batches based on the source of the ingredients, while synthetic ingredients usually have consistency in their smell and lasts longer. Nathalie Lorson, Master Perfumer, composed Fusion d'Issey Extrême by adding a new spicy facet to this solar fern fragrance.

This one is a fragrance for lovers of the modern trendy but with some different - but subtle -nuances. I usually hate Issey’s because of that one distinctive note I can’t put my finger on, but this is a coconut/fig/wood heavy fragrance that feels way lighter and more pleasant in comparison to the Extreme version which I had and sold due to infrequent use. If you’re just a big Miyake fan and/or find the pretty bottle to be a nice addition to your collection, go ahead and enjoy it – just be prepared to bring an atomizer. Both aspects are equal to if not better than Fusion, which is kind of a rare thing amongst the Demeter’s having tried a fairly decent bunch of them.

Update 2, the day after; I've been won over, this is a winner to me both scent and longevity, I hope to get a bottle some time soon! A new Miyake that is neither a flanker or something with a name so long that it hardly fits on the bottle. This volcanic fragrance is held in a bottle replete with contrasts – tall and elegant in gleaming deep blue glass. Do you like modern, sporty/summer fragrances that do not deviate much from the current and popular men's offerings? To me its a really nice coconut perfume with the addition sweetness of fig, abroxan and the smoothness of sandalwood smell.Bursting open with a fresh squeeze of luminous Lemon balanced by the milky sweetness of Coconut Water, the eau de toilette starts off with a light and bright disposition. Fusion D'Issey draws inspiration volcanic eruptions with a crash of aromatic and fougere fragrances. For example, some top note citrus scents smell stronger immediately upon application, while a lavender middle note may be sensed after some time from application as the top note evaporates.
