Arizona is much sweeter, with the citruses, beachy and salty, with solar and more underlying fruit notes mixed with that cactus flower not that is also present in Pure Turquoise. I wanted this to be a somewhat unique sunny scent, the notes sounded exciting, but the scent is neither unique, nor an especially great version of what has been done before. Arizona doesn't necessarily evoke the desert for me — it seems too smooth and cozy for that dramatic terrain.

Also, Givenchy's L'ange noir EDP int he powdery/makeup notes but a more summery/daytime fruity version. I thought it smelled familiar and low and behold thank you Fragrantican's yes it does smell very much like my bottle of Sun Di Gioia. Honestly, if this liquid was released in a different bottle as "LVEB Solaire" by Lancôme, I wouldn't have even been surprised.It seems that nobody's wearing it here in my country, maybe it's nearly unknown or no one likes it, who knows? Designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the duo behind Proenza Schouler, have said that Arizona was inspired by a trip to the deserts of the American Southwest and some much-needed time away from Wi-Fi. Anyway, before I get into a novel, I’m just saying that I had zero notions or expectations from this. And I'm not sure what cactus flower smells like but I'd imagine it probably has a green and watery almost aloe like scent to it if that makes any sense.

Two notes are at the heart of the perfume: a lacquered and envutant iris accord combined with a white cactus flower, solar and bright.

I received a free sample of this in the mail, and was shocked that it was an absolute delight to my nose! I see many have noted a similarity to Gucci Bloom, which I love, but this just smells harsh and almost acrid to me. It’s a perfect easy wear, office friendly, daily option that is just different from the endless fruity, sweet and aquatic’s pitched for summer. I very much wanted to love it, I love the wilderness and warmth of Arizona (the state) and I wouldn't put these two together. The opening kind of surprised me as it was a powder compact smell - kind of like when you're a kid and you play with your mom's makeup?

In retrospect, after reading the reviews, I wish that I kept the sample and gave it a few more tries because I would love to smell what many of you are experiencing. In the beggining I could detect dusty iris of the LVEB variety, and after that it was just so indistinguishable.Its a bit distracting and a huge departure from my usual scents but i think i'll end up using the travel size up, especially in warmer weather.
