TIMS (Training in Innovation Management System for Sustainable SMEs) is an EU Erasmus+ project which analyzed the ISO (International Standardisation Organisation) 56000 innovation management system norm parts and configured in 2022 an ISO 56000-based innovation assessment portal. This paper discusses (based on the EU project AQUA) how the core elements of three complementary approaches and standards can be integrated into one compact skill set with training and best practices to be applied. The recently released SAE J3061 guidebook for cyber-physical vehicle systems provides high-level principles for automotive organizations to identify and assess cyber-security threats and design cyber-security aware systems in close relation to ISO 26262. Novel features, such as advanced driver assistance systems or automated driving functions drive the need for built-in security solutions and cyber-security aware system design.Sub-groups to develop a training to create a practical understanding of different processes have been set up, and this paper reflects the results from the sub-working group developing an understanding for PIM.

Most organizations develop separate processes for the system and software domain without mapping or considering their outputs onto the product development process, which is still focused only on the mechanical development and production.Integrated Product Development is increasingly a challenge of understanding and predicting the complete product lifecycle, and of treating the product as a whole in all phases of development. This paper gives an overview of which processes have been derived from ISO 56000 and how the PAM (Innovation Process Assessment Model) is structured. Many companies are currently performing a transition from their mechanical and hydraulic products to integrated electronic and mechatronic products which have to cope with requirements from Automotive SPICE, Functional Safety and Cybersecurity. This paper provides an overview of the new ISO 56000 norm, explains how the norm has been used as an input to elaborate a process assessment model with a set of base practices and outcomes per part and process of ISO 56000. This step would be a revolution in the lifelong learning area of engineering, which has no equivalent worldwide. The results of the project are disseminated to Automotive industry in partnership with a set of European Automotive associations.This is done by: a) establishing the innovation vision, strategy, policy, and objectives b) fostering a culture supporting innovation activities; c) integrating the organization's innovation management system requirements into the organization's existing structures and business processes, as appropriate; d) creating awareness and communicating the importance of effective innovation management and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the innovation management system; (learning from both successes and failures) e) ensuring that the innovation management system achieves its intended outcomes and promoting performance evaluation at planned intervals for continuous improvement [Outcome 1] . We will also teach your team the software Unit Design principles, software Unit Verification methods and we will go through course exercises together. With this tool, we can easily create our own assets, and asset types, import risk catalogs, create our own controls, define our own requirements in regard to the assets, pack them into modules, and then automate everything in a flexible way.

This integrated assessment model has been used in 2011 in trial assessments at Tier 1 (leading Automotive) suppliers and in this paper we describe the lessons learned and the next steps the working group is taking in 2012. This means additional effort for the assessors and also the engineering team when the ASPICE assessment is extended by processes of Cybersecurity to satisfy the requirements of standard ISO/SAE 21434.
