About this deal

Truly grasp your visceral writing style and veracity, and your pix of you and family, ( I have thirteen grandchildren ) please do not change/adapt/corporatise your wonderful output, you refresh my outlook on life and biking! It was perfect for carrying heavy items to the beach or bringing groceries home to the holiday house. The boxes were sticking out from both sides, and keeping them clear of the tires required some effort, but the long ROK Straps proved useful. It is held in place by a spring-loaded arm, and having taken this trailer off road, I can report that it will not shake loose even under rough conditions.

Simply put, we used this trailer for errands around town often as its unique shape and ease of storage made tough items easy to tote. The deep lower market bag takes hardier and larger items that can handle being stacked together while the smaller upper bag is perfect for fragile items like eggs. Some leeches for tying down more things, like a bicycle light or a strap to properly close the bag would be more useful. You can fit larger items on it than you could in panniers, so if you are really intending to use your bike a lot for picking things up and transporting anything you can think of, then this will be really great. Actually, as a family, we have 4 (although the Chariot is now retired and looking for a new home) and no car, and 3 of them get used almost daily.

If you find a fault with your item, send it back to us and we'll take a look at it as soon as we can. The Travoy hitches to the seatpost of most bikes and rides at a 45-degree angle, redistributing the load’s weight for easier riding. A well-balanced trailer – especially the two-wheeled types – feel like they actually stabilize the bike. It's worth noting the maximum weight capacity of the Travoy is on the lower end of the spectrum, and the flexible materials used in its construction seem like they don't want to be pushed very hard.

The law, introduced in 2014, puts the emphasis on the producers and suppliers of electrical equipment to pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electricals. This is really quite difficult on narrow steps with turns and the flex in the trolley becomes even more noticeable. It’ll still be a presence behind the bike that has to be accommodated by riding smoothly (don’t jump out of the pedals and rock the bike back and forth) but it’s not nearly as noticeable as other trailers. Going going down the street unloaded I found that even with my large wheels and rear rack I had just enough clearance so that the trailer can make sharp turns. Between each section there is a twist handle which allows the sections to hinge and fold flat against each other for storage.

We found that this trailer excelled at hauling odd-shaped items and those that needed to remain upright.

Bikes trailers have been around forever — Burley itself has been making them for over 40 years — but they are usually bulky attachments that present particular challenges for city dwellers. The Travoy made a bit of splash when it first came out several years ago, because it was the first trailer with an advertising campaign that suggested that people wearing suits might use it while biking to the office. Not only did this add to the versatility, but it allowed us to simply use the trailer more than we would have if it was a hassle to get it outside and set up.
