Batch 1 is a vatting of six traditional whisky casks and three sherry butts, containing whiskies distilled between 1966 and 1975.

Glenfarclas distillery is a Speyside whisky distillery located in Ballindalloch, Scotland and one of the few still privately owned distilleries. A delightful texture and flavour on the palate, it finds itself among some of the best truly rich and indulgent whiskies.For me it is in no way too bitter, on the contrary I find it so fruity-sweet that the smell reminds me more of an old rum. No real smell of sherry, but more of cooked red fruits, such as cherries, currants, cranberries and blackberries. Critic tasting note: "The nose suggests this is a huge, effusive whisky through aromas of flamed orange disc, peel oils, baking spices, triple sec, mango, dark chocolate, passion fruit, and walnut shells.

Glenfarclas can trace its history back to 1836, when tenant farmer Robert Hay founded the distillery on the Rechlerich Farm, on the Ballindalloch Estate in Banffshire.
