About this deal

Mr Majeika can behave just like any ordinary teacher if he wants to, but something has to be done about Hamish Bigmore, the class nuisance, and so he uses a little magic to turn him into a frog. This problem affects the majority of the TVS programme archive as much of the original production paperwork and sales documentation has been lost during the intervening years. Mr Majeika and Class Three find themselves in a creepy hotel near Hadrian's Wall, where some very spooky things start to happen. A recurring character is Wilhelmina Worlock, a witch who first appeared as a music teacher and has turned up regularly since in various disguises.

These are lovely classic, harmless stories that are playful and fun for kids to read and don't use complex language, so they're very easy reads. However, he is no ordinary man, as is apparent when he flies into Class Three's boring lesson on a magic carpet, which he then turns into a bicycle, confounding the headmaster: Mr Majeika is a wizard! As well as the Mr Majeika titles, his children's books also included Shakespeare Without the Boring Bits and More Shakespeare Without the Boring Bits. Not as cool and trendy as other shows of its time, it would have been a huge hit just a few years earlier. We work closely with publishers and authors to ensure that we offer the best books on the market for your child. In one primary school, the class meet their new teacher, who immediately shows himself to be a little different.

Mr Majeika gets angry a lot with Hamish Bigmore in his first year of being a teacher at St Barty's Primary School after being a wizard for many years. As a rule, magic carpets don't turn up in schools, but this is exactly what happens when Class Threes new teacher flies in through the classroom window and lands on the floor with a bump. Tolkien: A Biography) and the first The Oxford Companion to Children's Literature but he was also an author of fiction too.Humphrey Carpenter (1946-2005), the author and creator of Mr Majeika, was born and educated in Oxford. They could imagine what would happen if they had a magician for a teacher and the adventures they may have. Mr Majeika however is no ordinary teacher who is constantly entering unusual and exciting adventures. As a rule, magic carpets don't turn up in schools, but this is exactly what happens when Class Three's new teacher flies in through the classroom window and lands on the floor with a bump.
