XL Records’ 20th anniversary vinyl reissue of OK Computer—subtitled OKNOTOK 1997-2017—echoes such prevalent themes: The struggle to maintain meaningful human interaction. The sound of a band stubbornly refusing to follow up the stadium-strafing stylings of its predecessor The Bends - and instead bursting headlong into experimentation and wild creativity -is portrayed in still more vivid colours by the alarmingly strong collection of out-takes and B-sides collected herein, Yet there's no getting away from the chill and spark that marked out OK Computer from everything surrounding it in the post-Britpop malaise, and continues to do so in the pre-Brexit counterpart. Digital formats, double CD, and triple 180g LP versions of the 23-track album will be released widely on June 23rd. The special edition includes an art book, notes, and a cassette tape of demos and session recordings.

After a period of being out of print on vinyl, EMI reissued a double LP of OK Computer without Radiohead's involvement in 2008, and again in 2009 as an expanded "Collector's Edition".By clearing away some noise and improving separation, he preserves the feel of the original while enabling microdetails to emerge. Shrouded in wafting guitars, swoony rhythms, and moody-blue strings, it shrugs off mosh-pit conventions for a poignant delicacy and breadth, with Yorke's cracked-throat voice the album's melancholy center.
