Roll with a smooth flowing motion alternately across and with the grain of the wood avoiding accumulations of product. Bona Mega Natural produces a subtle rich tone and is therefore not recommended for use over Bona White primer if you are looking to retain a true white look. For application to softwood plank floors, endgrain floors and hardwood floors with underfloor heating, it is recommended to always use a primer. Previously waxed, polished or oiled floors cannot be overcoated with Bona Mega Varnish unless sanded back to bare wood. Overcoating Bona White primer with Bona Mega is not recommended if you are looking to achieve a true white look.

We laid down 200 year old wooden pine floors in our flat last year, and the people we hired sealed the floors with something and we just knew it didn’t look sealed. Dry environment and higher temperature may require an increased 'open time' of the lacquer, which can be achieved with adding Bona Retarder to finish.The Bona Mega Floor coating is a convenient waterborne system, that stand up to the wear and tear of foot traffic the walks over your clean floor. Wooden floors should never be saturated with water as part of a cleaning routine as this will significantly reduce longevity and performance of the finish. Bona Mega produces a subtle rich tone which is more noticeable on light wood species and on floors treated with a light stain or whitening primers. Allow the surface to dry for at least 1 week before covering with carpets or other floor coverings, or loading with heavy objects. Previously waxed, polished or oiled floors cannot be overcoated with Bona Mega Varnish unless sanded back to bare wood.Where a longer drying time is required due to high temperature and/or low humidity, Bona Retarder can be added to the varnish to increase the 'open time' of the product. Please Note: Do not cover recently sealed floors with plastic protection like correx or similar products, as this can cause damage to uncured finish.
