with my Sunrise pickup in a guitar, I run that to the Sunrise Buffer box, then my Fishman Pro EQ, then Boss. I haven't found much live use for the harmoniser yet, and the soft and hard voice correct function is a bit strange, I sing in tune so I probably wouldn't use it anyway, but it seems to me to add a strange doubled note to the vocals. For guitar a bit of reverb as standard, and then chorus on about 20% if i want a nice jangly 12 string tone, and on a couple picking tracks a bit of chorus / delay. It has some other FX that I probably wont use, but if I chuck my Ditto X4 and get a VE-8, I may be closer to the universally unattainable Gear Nirvanna.

Likewise, you can also get a good vocal tone with the BOSS VE-8, but I found it to be far less flexible than the other pedals. Harmonies also good, but like with play acoustic have to be kep low, i keep mine at 20% and just use the octave higher to give a more richer vocal tone.
