When you experience heartburn or acid reflux symptoms, take 2 – 4 tablets after each meal and before bed time. Other side effects of unknown frequency may include constipation, irritability, muscle twitching or muscle cramps, indigestion that comes back when you stop taking the tablets and high levels of calcium in the blood. If you have any severe side effects stop use immediately and seek medical assitance as soon as possible. It is designed for emergencies and not regular use and requires you to have add a recent asthma review.

Gaviscon creates a protective layer on top of your stomach acid that protects you from the potential harms of heartburn - especially when you’re sleeping. Eating before bedtime can make it easier for acid to escape back up into the oesophagus (food pipe). The sodium alginate works by forming a protective barrier over the contents of your stomach, preventing acid reflux and soothing irritation in your chest and throat.
