It is one of the few fragrances I own that I use a light hand with, because the silage, projection, and longevity is enormous and everlasting with 2-4 sprays at most. It is a huge floral bouquet in which I notice the Orange Blossom, Gardenia, Rose and the orange fruit the most. I have had a long relationship with Amarige and we even went our separate ways for awhile but it's still one I revisit for special occasions as she's glam and confidently complex.

I believe it’s more of a spring scent and very feminine, and while the notes pyramid can seem discouraging, I feel it’s really well blended and quite airy from the neroli and ylang-ylang, which bring some freshness to it. It's almost as if butterflies and flowers are about to burst out of the bottle when you take off the cap and spray it.It is so opulent and floral that it seems like its composition includes all the beautiful flowers that exist in the world. You only need one spray on each pulse point and this beauty just lasts and lasts like a beast, as many of our perfumes did back in the 1990s. There was something so sweet and addictive in the scent that I kept coming back to sample it over and over.

I always spray a little of this, when visiting my mom, she has a lot of powerhouse perfumes, and it's so much fun for me trying them on, experiencing, what works, and what doesn't. Overall it is ok scent, not a grandma scent but it is definitely for older, professional and conservative woman over 40 who has her boundaries and is not willing to step out of her comfort zone. And seeing that Dominique Ropion is the nose behind this gem, it's no wonder Amarige has a gorgeous, rich scent.I used to wear a lot of Ysatis, but have switched to Amirage because it's fruitiness is very uplifting to me during the long winter months. Amarige is a perfume you wear for yourself, not to please others - I honestly think you should do that with every fragrance. I do need to spray a bit heavier and reapply once or twice in colder weather when I’m wearing heavy clothing, but once I get a scent bubble going, it lasts longer. After giving it another chance, I can say with all honesty that I hate this fragrance and it makes me sick. Bright, slightly green, slighty soapy and a feel-good scent - this is something I will be wearing a lot more during the warmer months!

Amarige is the symbol of femininity, radiating and bursting with happiness, a zest for life and a generous heart.

This is my moms signature scent and it evokes so many memories of her emerging from the bathroom drowned in its aroma. I don’t think the sillage is big with the newer formulation but I am certain if I use more than 5 sprays, it would be bigger. I adore this perfume and the vintages are still fairly cheap at a time when online resellers have lost their minds and are charging exorbitant amounts for these bottles they picked up at yard sales for a few bucks. I don't know if my nose has changed, or my body chemistry, or it's been reformulated, but it's not the powder show I remember from years ago.

That’s ok because my favorite big beautiful everything but the kitchen sink 90s yellow floral is Amarige. I found out to my surprise that 5th Avenue by Elizabeth Arden has the same dry down as this fragrance. The smell from the bouquet on the table mixes with the powdery make up compacts that are all over the table.She might wear sunglasses indoors sometimes, but she's got a wink and a smile reserved for you and she's going to be having fun until the day she dies.
