About this deal

A smokey ambery-vanilla…I do detect oud but it’s minuscule (it just adds to the smokiness combined with the incense), good for beginners. I prefer to smell this on a man (or scent my home with it) than to wear it myself, the smell of burning woods is abit much for me, eventhough I find the ambery-vanilla aspect of it absolutely, deliciously gorgeous, I just love sweet ambery scents. Excellent and beast mode fragrance even during hot and humid weather in South East Asia, easily lasting 8 hours. My first thought was "saliva" - the same kind of saliva smell that I got from Arabian Gardens, and Suki Weil.

Performance on Kalemat Black is so NUCLEAR that I am getting worried about Arabian Oud company offices in London getting raided by the MI6 !The fragrance opens with a burst of invigorating freshness, where zesty bergamot and crisp apple intertwine.

And then about an hour the Oud and the Vanilla and the amber and the Basil rise up imploding from your skin into your aura. Please note that the colour of the perfume oil might differ slightly from what is seen in the picture. For me it’s VERY similar to Arabian Oud’s ‘Arabian Nights Black’ with a tiny little something of ‘Majestic Woody Intense’, but being all from the same house, it’s got to share some kind of familiar DNA. I can’t believe I spent this much on something that smells like the old Bijan perfume that was popular in the 90’s. Perfumes with natural ingredients often smell different in batches based on the source of the ingredients, while synthetic ingredients usually have consistency in their smell and lasts longer.

It smells very much like a typical Middle Eastern concoction that has been done so many times before.

I don't dare to press all the way down on the sprayer, just a very light spray on the wrist and neck is all I need.If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. Overall, this is an exceptional Middle Eastern fragrance that smells dark and sweet at the same time, and is totally fitting its name "Sihr al-Kalimat" which means 'magic of words' in Arabic, since it will leave you speechless. I'm starting to see a trend here where if Oud is listed as a note people just intensive the hell out of it, like blinded, and hungry berserkers, thirsting for precious things.

While I also love the original Kalemat, I feel it is better suited for the ladies while the darker/more interesting Kalemat Black, is the perfect gentleman's fragrance for the Fall and Winter months. To start off, the presentation of this fragrance is very classy, it really stands out in my collection. This has to be the cheapest junkiest bottle I've ever encountered and for almost 200 bucks, I feel insulted. On a more serious note (no pun intended :P), Kalemat Black really takes that sweet, ambery vibe present in the original Kalemat and intensifies it with the Oud. I don’t really get any oud in here, just frankincense or myrhh mixing with a lot of amber and thick vanilla. Kalimat Latansa Travel Size Perfume / Eau de Parfum by Ard al Zaafaran is a perfectly balanced masterpiece, not too heavy and not too fresh-harsh, which delights with pleasantly sweet notes and exudes noble serenity.
