this one was a wee bit confusing but I can see his spark of interest in World War II that was more fully developed in All the Light We Cannot See. Now 85, her fits have intensified and she is haunted by visions of her childhood friends from the orphanage she grew up in. An unscrupulous collector breaks into the house with a young street boy looking to harvest the memories to discover the location of the lost fossil. Embryo, seed coat, endosperm: What is a seed if not the purest kind of memory, a link to every generation that has gone before it?
