About this deal

As a guy who creates musical stuff for a living and reads science books for kicks, I was doubly hooked by The Molecule of More .

Aș recomanda înainte de lecturarea acestei cărți, alte două cărți care prezintă o descriere a mai multor hormoni: "Creierul fericit" de L Breuning sau "Excitat. There's also an experiment where pictures of disgust or something that might upset someone were compared to pictures that were positive such as the baby smiling and this in turn showed that conservatives tended to focus more on the negative pictures than liberals who tended to focus more on the positive messages. Tengo un amigo que cuando escuchó por primera vez el podcast del neurocientífico de Stanford, Andrew Huberman, me dijo: “El tío mola mucho y es una pasada escucharle… una pena que se lo invente todo”. I've been postponing writing reviews only after the second read but was so excited about this one that passed my own rules.

Andrew Huberman, but my understanding of dopamine remained constrained to its role in motivation and reward. Dopamine is the chemical of desire that always asks for more―more stuff, more stimulation, and more surprises. Huberman for igniting my initial curiosity about the brain and paving the way for this impactful journey. A pesar del flojeo final le pongo un 4/5 y se lo recomiendo especialmente a los interesados en psicología/sociología.

If we get clarity on how our brain chemistry works, we can use that understanding to create a life full of healthy, sustainable and truly rewarding relationships and accomplishments, and more effectively avoid the traps of modern existence that are just about to kill us all. Recently, scientists have proposed that our brain divides the world into two separate regions: near and far.Because another way I got in contact with dopamine was via sport and dietary change, massively influencing and modifying my body chemistry with interesting side effects muahaha, no it really got better, I swear! These platforms, and our cell phones in general, are the most addicting things ever invented—every ping triggers our dopamine receptors.

The bigger and better the surprise, the more dopamine our brain releases – and the more pleasure we feel. However, dopamine will wane and as it does so, we start to lose that feeling that we have and we want to seek something else. Dr Lieberman and Dr E Long don't just explain dopamine; they disclose it as the engine driving so much of human experience, from love and addiction to creativity and our very pursuit of "more. I'm now less caught up in the endless pursuit of "more" and more attuned to the simple joys of the present moment. Capitolul V care explică cum acționează dopamina în cazul politicienilor (puțin exagerat după părerea mea) se adresează unui grup minoritar de oameni.Buuuut I won’t be reading any of his other books or using him as a credible resource after he blatantly manipulated his resources.
