About this deal

The players must use their deductive skills to unmask the murderer who hides among them, conspiring to derail their investigations. Each player is dealt 5 further cards, to which a ‘Not So Fast’ card is added, making a total of 6 cards for each player. It’s as if the villain in one of the original novels, rather than cleverly covering their tracks, preferred to walk around covered in blood, clutching a dripping dagger and wearing a bright pink T-shirt saying: IT WAS ME! Namely, it misses a trick by not delving into who has been killed, and there's only one generic piece of artwork to represent each secret. Death on the Cards is incredibly simple to set up—each player begins the game with three secret cards and five mechanic cards, which could be any mix of detectives, events, and Not So Fast!

Once they’ve heard all your despicable secrets they’ll be able to set up a lucrative career as a blackmailer so you need to work together to make sure that definitely doesn’t happen.I recommend three or more players, with the more you have the (slightly) better the chances are for the murderer to escape.

Agatha Christie's Death on the Cards is a 2019 card game created by Modiphius Entertainment in association with James Prichard, Chairman and CEO of Agatha Christie Limited. It’s a typical Christie-style setup: a murky morass of dark deeds and deceptions where everyone has things they’d rather the rest of the world didn’t know about. Our aim is to inspire those who read, play or encounter our work with tales of heroism, adventure and courage. To unmask the killer, you’ll play cards representing detectives from Poirot and Marple to less well-remembered characters like Tommy and Tuppence Beresford and Harley Quin (no, not that Harley Quinn). Each player is given 3 secrets at the beginning – you might not be the murderer but you’ve all committed various social faux pas and we all want more details on your involvement in the ‘vicarage incident’ . The villain in the action-adventure film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade warns hero Indiana Jones: "Don't trust anybody". various motives and secrets (or red herrings) are there, and various twists on her story titles are present. The detective cards are used to uncover players' secrets and thus discovering the killer's identity.
