About this deal

Aimed at young children between 6 to 9 years of age, the book presents an intriguing analysis of the plans, construction, and eventual sinking of the Titanic. They were of a level which would be very hard to replicate today as there's been a loss of skills over the years. He even bribed a keeper at London Zoo to feed a live rat to a snake so he could capture the grisly image from first-hand experience. It is simply the result of very careful study of previous Titanic material and I feel that if anyone deserves credit for exposing the true fate of these passengers then it must be Walter Lord.

The novel had been published fourteen years prior and the circumstances of its sinking were eerily similar to that of the RMS Titanic. This book is packed full of information on the Titanic and those who both survived and those who lost their lives. The remainder of the book deals with facts and myths attached to the voyage, and analyses the memoirs and essays of the survivors recounting the finer details of what took place on the night the Titanic sank. Of the 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, more than 1,500 died, making the sinking one of the deadliest for a single ship up to that time.

The true story of the world's most famous ship is retold in this beautiful book with stunning visuals and a gripping narrative. As the band played on deck, 1,500 men, women, and children were swept into the ice-cold water of the North Atlantic.

While Sangorski had bound some versions of the renowned Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám before, the master craftsman said that this time he wanted to create a work featuring three peacocks he would surround with jewelled decoration "such as had never been seen before". She soon became his confidante, companion, and translator, traversing the Continent and finding herself caught in the winds of impending war. And so this book kind of consciously conspires against you and the more you try, the worse the result. Marveling at those who choose to stay on board, the musicians who continued to play and those separated from their families. This led to the creation of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea ( SOLAS) two years after the sinking. One of the most lavishly decorated books the world has seen was despatched from London to New York in April 1912. From those who struggled to escape from the bottom of the ship to the hundreds of passengers floating on the frigid waters waiting for rescue, every angle of the tragedy has been covered lucidly and in stunning detail. From first words to the Big Bang, from the wonders of nature to city adventures, you will find expert knowledge, hours of fun and endless inspiration in the pages of our books.
