I love that N64 mode is actually recognized by the Switch as an N64 controller as it displays the controller you’re using as the official Nintendo brand unit. Providing a new and comfortable way to play your favorite classic N64 games on your PC or Mac, the next gen styled controller has a completely updated look over the original N64 controller.

These securily keeps the dongles from sagging down possibly causing issues with your Nintendo 64 controllers ports over time. I do find on my PC that Retoarch is not easy to set up with different controllers for different cores. Most importantly, you won’t need two different controllers to play your favorite N64 games on Nintendo Switch Online. It’s hard to make Mario run and jump properly with the YXBA layout we’ve had since SNES, at least with the way I use my thumb. I initially purchased it to use for my first playthrough of Goldeneye 007 but since I have found it to be a great choice not only for N64 games but also SNES, Genesis, and even Dreamcast games!

Finally a decent wireless n64 controller has been released for the Switch/PC and will work on the Pi. It took less than five minutes to make the adjustment of the much needed analog stick, but I could not imagine playing Super MARIO 64 with the old trident controller. I can get used to that, but I think it could be better if the A/B buttons had a different texture in this format so it’s easier to tell them apart by feel. Now featuring transparent colors and clear matching plugs, the Brawler64 Gamepad by Retro Fighters is a completely redesigned N64 controller with Next Generation features and attributes.

I love N64 either way but remarkably this has given it even more appeal now and I'm certain I'll be putting more time into it as a result. It works flawlessly with NSO N64 games, correct button mapping, access to the suspend menu, home menu, etc.

On top of all that, it can also be used on a PC by plugging it into a USB port, which opens up the options for the controller even further still. The unit i recieved has a strange deadzone in the bottom left corner, would need to modify the controller to get full range in that section.

The A and B button layout also works incredibly well with some other Switch games, such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Also, I love the colors, I'm so glad I found you guys, and I've already recommended you to a co-worker.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Each movement is very responsive and I did not feel any dead space with the joystick, making precise movements very easy. It works wonderfully on the Switch as well, so awkward controls with the NSO N64 lineup are a thing of the past.

Works well so far, only gripe is theres no rumble but lets be clear thats nothing to do with stone age gamer. Best third party controller on the market really doesn't pull you out of the game at all, certainly as far as the joystick is concerned it's just miles above the OG.They're both responsive and have a solid tactile feel, similar to what you'd find on today's high-end controllers.
