About this deal
We follow Cleo and Heath, and their friend Trina, through university and beyond and grow to understand Cleo and Heath’s relationship. I certainly couldn’t predict how the story would eventually play out, anyway, and it constantly took me by surprise, so this was such a great reading experience for me overall.
TW: racism, grooming, paedophilia, murder, sexism, misogyny, harassment, mental health, rape ⚠️ This was a really good slow burner that hits you with twists and turns when you least expect it. I didn’t know what to expect from this book, I really had no clue what would happen and how it would end.Hello, my name's Dorothy Koomson and I'll try to make this bit that's all about me as interesting as possible. There’s a lot of character build up and scene setting at the start so it did take me a while to understand where the story was going, but I found Cleo such an original and intriguing character that I was absolutely hooked by her story. When I finally reached the end, I reread it and it occurred to me that it needed a slower start to get to know the characters properly and take it all in.
Dorothy Koomson is my all time favourite author and I’m yet to read anything I didn’t like from her, this is no exception.
Once I had finished this course, I was going to make sure I had all the tools to start and finish a book. At its heart, this is a tale of obsession, which I found fascinating (though it took a while to get there), but then so much other stuff started happening with murders and revenge that this primary theme that I wanted to learn more about got buried. Never one to rest on her laurels, Dorothy Koomson really takes things to another level with My Other Husband .
