About this deal

This unmatched text is written by carefully chosen students who excelled on the Step 1 exam, its reviewed by top faculty—all the ensure that the content is relevant, high-yield, and accurate—and its organized and formatted in ways that help you easily hone in on the most important content.

I like that it does not take long to get familiar with navigating around from the dashboard because it can be an unnecessary burden trying to figure out a program when you just want to get to studying. This is by far the most comprehensive and concise compilation of the first two years of medical school into one single piece of literature. Personally, I used the First Aid Step 1 book as a way to consolidate information that I learned in our organ-based curriculum in my preclinical years. Le's First Aid for the USMLE Step 1, this essential study guide offers 1000 board-style questions and answers, easy-to-navigate, high yield explanations for correct and incorrect answers, and more than 350 accompanying images. The tutorial provided at the beginning of the Step 1 examination has fewer screens and less detailed information than the tutorial in the Step 1 interactive testing experience. I don’t consider not starting early to be a ‘mistake’, since most students don’t start studying until their dedicated study period and they do just fine.

I remember the first time I encountered it as a premed; oh, how I longed for the day that I would carry it around and highlight in my own copy and be burdened by its information! Haha, so now the secret is out -- your physicians are all crazy people -- but at least we're crazy people who know a lot about Bruton's agammaglobulinemia, right? That’s why for the past 29 years more medical students have chosen First Aid over any other exam prep book. This item may ship from the US or other locations in India depending on your location and availability. An obvious must-have for Step 1 and provides all the essentials, but I am so sick of looking at this book. This book is the Bible for step one exam, if you memorize its facts very well -not like me- you will do great, 70% of the questions were from FA facts, a very important book, I can't insist more about that . Ok, I'm not recommending any of you read this book, but I spent ~12 hours/day, 7 days/week for 6 weeks memorizing it, so I felt it deserved a shout out on my Goodreads.

First Aid Forward is different from the books because it incorporates new and expanded First Aid content to support your USMLE studies all in one place. Content is broken down into small learning units, or "bricks", and organized around basic science topics or clinical concepts. Take a quiz in tutor mode while studying to review answers in real-time or in test mode to identify your strengths and weaknesses and narrow your study focus. Foundational Knowledge Quizzes (Quick-Hits): High-yield, quick-hit quizzes test your foundational medical knowledge core subjects and organ systems.

Therefore, simply ‘skimming’, or passively reading the book will ensure that you miss important details. Join more than two million students who have used our high-yield tools on their journey to mastering med school and becoming future physicians. Junior Authors and contributors are students at Yale University School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The most up-to-date First Aid frameworks and content to support your USMLE Step 1 preparation as well as your medical education.
