About this deal

The Hibiki 17 Year Old Blended Whisky is made from a combination of malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, as well as grain whisky from the Chita distillery. Perfect serve: Suntory Hibiki 17-Year-Old Whisky is best enjoyed on the rocks to appreciate this precise blend. Suntory Whisky Hibiki is a harmonious blend, blessed with the riches of Japanese nature and craftsmanship.

Taste: Well it's smooth, no burn, which when I first tasted it, blew away every conception and prejudice I had against whisky. We may, but are not under any obligation, to release new functionalities and tools or other features for the Service every now and then.

The bottle is presented in a bottle which has 24 faces to represent the 24 seasons in the Japanese lunar calendar. There I'm detecting the slightest hint of fruit, feels like pears, but I could be wrong which partially redeems the whisky.Any investment and purchase made, or action(s) taken based upon (information in) the Service may and will involve significant risk (such as, but not limited to loss, total loss). It was an expensive whisky, and a bit out of my league as a beginner, but the nearest I could get was Hibiki 17 years, which I first drunk in the Park Hyatt New York Bar, Tokyo… and it was just as good.

With the addition of water, the nose becomes floral and fruity, with an added hint of peat smoke, improving its balance noticeably as the caramel recedes from the forefront.

A fantastic Japanese blend, made with aged malt and grain whiskies from Suntory’s three distilleries.

The Service, including any information contained therein, does not constitute any advice (such as but not limited to investment advice, tax advice, financial, economic advice) and is not intended as recommendations (whether personal, in general, or otherwise) to invest in companies, products, services. I would rate this a little higher (anything up to 85/100) except I believe a whisky should be rated at its bottled strength (unless cask strength), so will let the original verdict stand.Hibiki Whisky holds the distinction of being Japan’s most highly awarded blended whisky as well as carrying the reputation as one of the most prestigious and honoured whiskies in the world.
