About this deal

In her first recipe book, Feed Me Vegan, Lucy Watson has you covered with tempting meals from breakfast to supper - as well as all the sweet treats and snacks you need in between! If you’re holding my arm behind my back forcing me to say something then I think you could actually get away with cooking this for half the time or just dishing it up and popping it under the grill to melt the cheeze topping. The book itself was always going to appeal to me – you can see from the front cover that it’s going to be very ‘Instagrammable’ in its style. I have been cooking for decades and don't need a lot of help with ideas in the kitchen, but sometimes especially with vegan it is just nice to open a book, follow instructions and have a meal turn out delicious. I’d also add more chilli for a little bit more punch but that’s totally down to personal preference.I also like the variety of meals - breakfasts, snacks, soups, lunches, dinners, big feasts; as well as the weekly meal plan suggestions and dog food recipe. I read some reviews that said the recipes are quite basic and not very imaginative but actually it's exactly what I needed; to learn how to adapt meals we already know and love, to being vegan.

Love how the recipes cater to providing delicious alternatives to much loved comfort foods and home favourites! Take the fairly nondescript sounding ‘Hot Chocolate’ recipe for example, which includes cacao (standard), cinnamon (nice twist), amaretto (oh yeah) and Baileys (GOOD LORD). Many of the recipes are standard traditional dishes with vegan processed food substitutes instead of animal products, which I didn't find inspiring at all. There was over a quarter of the book taken up with chapters on sweets and cakes with is a large proportion in my opinion. The question is – does it live up to the reviews and is it worth shelling out your hard earned cash for?

Enough to turn the head of even the most dedicated carnivore, Feed Me Vegan is full of tasty, satisfying vegan fare which will have everyone asking for seconds. all in all, this book is probably good for a starter veggie, but im not, so i need cookbooks with a bit more bite to them.
