They say it has a good power of 1500w, it is powerful enough to cope with long and often damp grass, and it has no worries about power. To me they are minor points and I’m happy with the mower I would definitely recommend and purchase again if I needed to. I would recommend this mower, I only knocked a star off for the inconvenience of trailing a chord around but i think the lightness of the machine more than makes up for this.

If this is the case then it will clearly be indicated in the product information for your awareness. In fact I would say not having the weight of all the parts of a collecting mower and the weight of the clippings improves the hovering ability.

The problem arose when I went to use the mower after the winter, I plugged it in and although the motor was whirring away the blade was not rotating. As a hover mower you will need to carry it to and from the grass, the weight of 8kg isn't heavy for a powerful mower but some people might find it so.

The 1500w motor produces sufficient "hover" to make it easy enough for one handed operation - make sure you have your steel toe caps on though. I have a large back garden this mower is very powerful and having a metal blade it cuts very well, mowers with plastic blades are a nightmare as they keep breaking every couple of yards,the only problem is the flymo 400 only ever lasts 2 years,its the same fault on every one ive had the bearing on the blade shaft goes and because the shaft is not running true it vibrates uncontrollable and makes the mower usless the bearing is the only item you cant get has a spare you cant replace it its a sealed item, but saying that the mower gets the job done very well the cuttings are so fine they just rot back into the grass, ive bought 4 mowers over 8 years all gone the same way [bearings] that works out about 75 pence a week over 2 years so i suppose its not too bad for a very powerful mower, i just wish flymo could sort the 2 year lifespan of the rotor bearings out.
