About this deal

I’m not in favour of assigned seats, especially for away games anyway, but nor am I going to stand my ground against a fellow Hearts man or woman who wants the seat they’ve paid for.

Arsenal’s rivals have torn into their fan base after a group of ‘ultras’ congregated in a tunnel near the Emirates Stadium.I sit in A in Wheatfield and have to say the Ultras have been a breath of fresh air up that end of the park.

I know the players can lift the fans, but sometimes the fans need to get behind the players and lift them. Not much of a fan of them but they look like theyre having a good time so perhaps its envy, fair amount of cringe involved though, dont expect much from anybody on a freezing cold wednesday night after going a goal down. Celtic looked to impose themselves in the early stages, with Motherwell soaking up much of the early pressure deep into their own half. Motherwell manager Steven Hammell expects cinch Premiership newcomers Kilmarnock to put up a tough test for his side to overcome. With 19 minutes remaining the Rugby Park men finally found the target, thanks to the bit of luck that deserted them in the first half. I'm of the view that this Ultra scene needs to be encouraged and supported to be a positive self managed grouping, as one day your wee boys will want to attach themselves to the scene, and you'll have the peace of mind to allow them to go and be part of it.

Wycombe was a drum without much chanting or at best the chanting was incidental to the drum as it couldn't be heard over it. If they were in G, G would join in and the noise would resonate over to N, and then they would join in too. Stephen O’Donnell has performed well out of position, so we now have real competition and cover on the side of the pitch. A generation of older fans have grown up forgetful of their own youth and in denial about the parlous state of Scottish football in the 1970s and 1980s, when waves of football hooliganism blighted the game. Despite that narrow escape the Motherwell players probably thought that their first half display earned them the right to hold a one goal lead as the teams headed up the tunnel at the interval. That is exactly the opposite of what would happen if the Ultras were responding to what was happening on the pitch.
