About this deal

Once the time is set and whether you want the alarm set or not, you can then set the nap time wake up and morning wake up times. You can set the time that you would like the children to get up, after this you then press a button and the countdown to morning begins. Our nap and bedtime battles have all but ceased and the Gro Clock has slotted so easily into our bedtime routine. it wobbles over – like the egg too and if it gets switched off, bam, you have to reset the whole thing from start.

I found it much easier to get hands on with the Gro-clock and it was really straight forward to use like this. It uses LED’s which are naturally energy-efficient and 1 hour after Mr Sun comes out the display turns off the coloured LED’s and runs on just a tiny amount of electricity. We’ve had it nearly three weeks and haven’t had one tantrum going to bed since Mr Star and Mr Sun came along! We then get our kisses and cuddles from BattleKid and just before we put him into his cot we say “Night-night Mr Star”.I was apprehensive about whether we’d see any difference in BattleKid at bedtime with him only being 20 months old but it’s made a world of difference at bedtime in a very short space of time.

Two hours, a hysterical melt down, the attempt of using the lava lamp, Ewan and the nightlight slide show later, Preetam and I both found ourselves lying on the floor with Arjun in his bedroom to get him to fall asleep. I feel like the introduction of The Gro Clock has made Arjun feel a lot more comforted by having “someone” in his room with him during the night. I am also hoping to have a Master Owl animated series, so that children around the world can benefit from his wisdom and mindfulness teaching. The Gro Clock has a great built-in energy-saving mode so although it is mains operated you don’t need to worry about energy consumption. In this case, you may be worried that your kid will realize that there are, in fact, occasions when he’s allowed to get out of bed before the sun comes up.I introduced giving big kisses to Mr Sun and now Arjun is in the habit of kissing and waving goodnight to Mr Sun too. However, all the opinions expressed about the Gro Clock in this review are wholly my own and have not been influenced in any way other than by our experience of using it. If you have a child that decides the day starts at 5am and everyone must get up with him, then this product will help greatly but with time, effort and patience. Maintaining the constant routine and gently enforcing the messages in the Sleepy Time book is really helping the child to understand the day doesn’t start at 5am. Once a toddler is out of the cot and into a bed, this is when the pitter patter of tiny feet begins to ring true.

He’s been sleeping through the night and on a Monday – Wednesday is still fast asleep when it’s time for us to take him to nursery and I’m always filled with guilt when we have to wake him. When Mia was born we bought her a number of Grobag’s which were amazing as Mia could get all snuggled up in bed with us knowing she was sleeping safe and securely. We have tried pretty much everything with J over the last 3 years and barely anything has actually worked, so I was delighted for us to be able to review The Gro Clock from The Gro Company as I have heard good things about them. Expecting your toddler to lie patiently in her bed for two hours more than she's used to just isn’t reasonable. The clock comes with its own bedtime story ‘Sleepy Farm’, to help get across the message how important it is to get a good night’s sleep. This updated version of the Gro-clock uses fun images of the stars and sun to communicate when to go back to sleep and when it's time to get up. It did take me a few times to get used to selecting the different functions, but it’s easy to remember now.

I have visited 103 schools so far, taught mindfulness to over 16,500 children and sold over 2,500 books. We have been using the Gro-Clock for a couple of weeks now, and it has become a vital part of our bedtime routine. The downside of this hack: If your kid happens to sleep in one morning, the bright lamp might wake them up. I brought him a ‘grown up’ bedding set with his favourite Thomas the Tank Engine cover to show that he was not a baby any more. We practised by pretending to sleep, wake, see it was blue, pretend sleep again then switch it to the yellow sun then wake up all happy. The bright screen is really appealing and both Mia and Lottie absolutely love the smiley star and sunshine faces when they appear! I am currently touring Primary, Junior and Prep schools in Devon, reading Master Owl meets Miss Bunny and teaching mindfulness to children aged between 5 and 11 years old. As a lot of parents do I have been dreading the lighter mornings as it means that the kiddies will be getting up even earlier than before so I started to look for a solution. There are so many factors that effect kids sleep that it's impossible to analyse them all, but there are definitely a few things that have helped Ethan, and I'm really hoping that they help Ivy as well.
