Him being the crown prince of Wuyong makes the most sense to me at least because that crown prince went through very similar issues that Xie Lian went through. The long-awaited second instalment in Samantha Shannon's Sunday Times and New York Times-bestselling series Tunuva Melim is a sister of the Priory. So many of my friends have already read it, so they can’t say much to my theories, but it’s still fun to discuss characters with them. After being burried in Hua Cheng's arms for so long, Xie Lian was able to finally, completley scrub the horrifying image of the mural from his brain. I would recommend this series of books to anyone who has enjoyed The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation.

Maybe if I'd waited until all the volumes were released before starting this, these things wouldn't bother me as much. Usually it’s not a big problem because the humorous scenes are few and dispersed throughout the book, but MXTX decided to make this a ‘relaxing and chill’ time before the storm and it was more prominent than ever.

On top of that, we learn a lot of backstories for a lot of the minor side characters, and maybe this stuff will be important later, but it's largely pointless now. I would be so bored without all these charachters creating chaos around hulian, and on top of that I also ship them so hard! I could feel the waves of anxiety rolling off the chapters of Yin Yu and Quan Yizhen's past and Xie Lian's trauma regarding the human face disease. He greatly admired Yin Yu and would’ve never said anything offensive had he known it would be taken that way.

We review primarily romance featuring men, but we also review all kinds of LGBTQ romance here, as well as literary fiction and non-fiction. Seeing Pei Ming encounter so many unfortunate situations along the way was funny as hell, and I enjoyed learning more about the histories of the other heavenly officials. And hopefully the one with enough brain cells to know what she's doing because honestly, others are lost cases, haha. I loved how this story took almost all the batshit things from the previous volumes and turn it up a hundred! He shall venture to Mount Tonglu to slaughter the ghosts as they gather and try to keep a new king from being created.Little Hua Cheng was so adorable and I’m glad he got to experience love in that form since he never could when he was alive. It’s like all the problems I had in the previous installments decided to be highlighted; from the comedy to the slow pace to the lack of development of the characters. I don't know how I'm gonna make it until the next volume comes out, cause I'm already ready to read the next one! Honestly, the mystery of the story, the convoluted connections and associations between all of the myriad of characters — ghost, human, and deity — are my favorite parts of the book.
