About this deal

As the travel sleep pillows go in the space between the seats, it blocks off the access to the lifejacket and could cause issues if you needed to make a quick exit. About the size of a small travel pillow, I didn’t mind the size, although I was worried momentarily about my ability to re-stuff the travel pillow back into the bag after inflating it. The inflatable Flypal air travel pillow is two inflatable travel cushions stacked on top of one another that creates a flexible inflatable foot rest or toddler bed for planes. If you’re looking for an alternative to an inflatable sleeping travel pillow, Jetkids Bed Box is a premium airplane bed for a toddler worth considering.

I have never checked ahead and usually inflate them once the flight is well underway and without drawing attention to it! One thing we know for sure, we are far more successful in getting them to sleep in their own seat with the Fly Tot than across our laps! While the information about inflatable kids’ flight pillows in this post is accurate at the time of publication, things change so it’s always important to double-check with your airline for yourself as I can’t guarantee accuracy. My main problem when sleeping while travelling is my head lolling forwards (I like to think it’s because my brain is so full, but in reality I’m sure it’s because I have a big head). This pillow is definitely better than most camping pillows but if you’re anything like me and are really quite fussy about where you lay your head, I fear you won’t be impressed. It’s not practical to use day to day travelling, so the kids still end up needing a small backpack as well. Hoffman not only recommends it to patients, but says “this I have used personally and I think it’s one of the best products I’ve come across. In other words, pillows which come in their own carry cases, can be easily packed away into the smallest of spaces and can be quickly inflated and deflated (ideally with two dedicated valves).

As a family that does a lot of international travel, when our little one outgrew the airplane’s bassinet, we knew we needed a toddler bed to use on flights. Lachs admits that the memory-foam pillow above is “even more comfortable,” but the inflatable is better if you want to travel light.Designed by Amsterdam based BCXSY, the Infinity Pillow is made with sustainably grown bamboo fabric which is breathable when hot but warm when needed. It lets you sleep decently even if you’re in the middle seat, and this one is small enough to easily tuck into your backpack. Just like the memory-foam pillow, this one has a flat back to help keep your neck in line with the seat, and it has a neck strap to keep your head super-stable. The Stokke bed box cases are on wheels, allowing you to pull them around the airport and the ride on ones act like a Trunki where your kids can ride on them. As frequent travellers, we have managed to test out a range of these foot pillows and finally settled one the inflatable one simply due to the fact that they are much easier to port around (in comparison to those that you have to wheel behind you through the airport).
