About this deal

It remains one of my favorite pimped games as everything came together and worked perfectly all the while requiring some different techniques. Indeed, while a name like “Risk Star Wars” may lead one to believe that this is Risk with a Star Wars theme, it has pretty much nothing in common with Risk beyond the presence of five six-sided dice (which are not used in the same way as Risk dice). We do not believe in updates for the sake of updates - and we will never share your details with a 3rd party. Each turn each player will select three cards to be played from hand, which will drive the actions that player gets to take that turn. Failing to keep Chewie at bay will result in a stormtrooper being knocked down, and the last player with a trooper left wins.

I was planning on getting my daughter Looping Louie for Christmas, but I now see there is a Star Wars version. Players control the levers of their respective barracks, in time to Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon doing flying loops overhead, trying to stop it from knocking a Stormtrooper token off the barracks and into the channel. It still, however, features actual strategy and tactics, making this a great game either casual gamers or for serious gamers who want some light fun. Rather, the closest inspiration for Risk: Star Wars Edition is probably The Queen’s Gambit, a classic (2000) original design Star Wars game set during The Phantom Menace. Other than the attraction of the Star Wars license, Loopin’ Chewie is, while great for kids in its own right, pretty much inferior to the original, which permitted four players (instead of three), features a Louie figure that’s better done than Chewie, and with retails for less than the Star Wars version.Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).

When the Millennium Falcon comes near a player's Stormtrooper tokens, that player uses their paddle to make a quick flip to get Chewbacca out of the way. My other notes about this game are: 1)You have to play with three players to make the game work well. Nothing broke down after a few months of playing with the kids so I was left wondering what to do with my spare. On Endor, the Rebels must race to destroy the shield generator, while the Empire deploys Stormtrooper reinforcements to make this task more difficult. Product manager goes to BGG to see what “the kids are doing with Louie these days” and stumbles on my Chewie conversion post, loves it and convinces Hasbro big brass to make the conversion in time for “ Force Friday” in 2015. There have been Risk Star Wars games in the past that hewed to the original Risk model – this just isn’t one of them). Tabletop gaming has (thankfully) not been immune to this phenomenon, with a variety of specialty and mass market Star Wars games released in 2015, with more scheduled for 2016. But what you can do is hit it too hard, it goes up in the air spins on the spot and lands directly on your own Stormtroopers!
