Praise of the first edition: ‘Attractively written, wise and judicious, with touches of engaging wit. Mit zahlreichen Initialen und Holzschnitten des Meisters MS, an deren Gestaltung Luther selbst mitgewirkt hat. It’s not quite as hard to read as, say, Will Carver’s nightmarish HINTON HOLLOW DEATH TRIP, which I still haven’t finished because I don’t want that shit in my head at night. This is a powerful, propulsive, high-octane thriller with an exciting, heart-pounding chase near the end and a desperate hunt to save a dying, captive child.

I am not sure I can deal with the series getting any scarier than it already has been but you can bet that I missed it and will be watching from behind a cushion. Cross for this great thriller and dedication to creating a new and exciting crime thriller series that will leave people gathered around the water cooler for weeks and months to come. Speaking about the writing and filming of series five of Luther on the BBC, Cross said: “We missed John Luther. My problem was that I couldn't, hand on heart, say whether it would have worked as well for me had I not seen the TV series first. I stumbled across Luther on one of the On-Demand download channels having missed it's original broadcast.Neil Cross's story of DCI John Luther of the London Police force seems to have been written as a prelude to the BBC series stories, and introduces the main characters. I mean, a reader often has to suspend belief when reading fiction, but in "Luther", the reader is suspended in a pit the depth of the Grand Canyon!

London is a city full of life, vigour, and energy, but also has a dark underbelly where murders and other violent crimes surface on a regular basis. So you should know from the start that I'm a huge fan of the "Luther" BBC series this is a prequel too. Originalausgabe 1545 und revidierte Fassung 1912 (CD-ROM), Digitale Bibliothek 29, Berlin 2002, ISBN 3-89853-129-5 (Es handelt sich um Luthers frühneuhochdeutschen Text. Luther is a big man with a big walk,” is Cross’s understated way of describing this very complex and conflicted London detective of the Serious Crime Unit. The novel is a prequel to the television series and focuses on the traumatic case involving a child killer named Henry Madsen. Really enjoyable, very graphic so be prepared to stomach some harsh language but all in all one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened too. I quickly became hooked on it, on paper the tortured cop could come across as a cliche but the writing and performances ensured that didn't happen.
